Hotel Description
You know what surprised me most about the Leonardo Hotel Munich City East? How quiet it actually is for being in such a well-connected spot. I mean, you’re literally minutes from the city center but you’d never guess it from your room – no constant traffic hum or late-night street noise that usually comes with urban hotels.
The whole place has this understated modern vibe that grows on you. Nothing too flashy, but everything feels thoughtfully put together. The lobby’s got these clean lines and warm lighting that somehow makes you relax the second you walk in, and honestly, their check-in process is refreshingly efficient – none of that awkward hovering while they figure out their system. The rooms are what I’d call intelligently designed. Not massive, but they’ve used every inch well, and the beds are actually comfortable (you’d be amazed how many 4-star places get this wrong). The bathrooms are spotless with decent water pressure, which – let’s be real – matters more than fancy marble when you’re trying to rinse off after a day of walking around Munich.
What really sold me on this place though is how it sits in the city. You’re close enough to hop on public transport and be at Marienplatz in no time, but far enough out that you’re not paying those crazy central Munich prices for everything. There’s genuine neighborhood life around here – actual bakeries where locals grab their morning coffee, not just tourist traps. The staff seems to get this too; they’ll point you toward the good spots without that rehearsed tourism-board spiel. I stayed here during Oktoberfest season (I know, I know, probably not the smartest timing) and while the city center was absolute chaos, this area stayed pretty manageable. The hotel itself handled the craziness well – no wild parties in the hallways, but they weren’t stuffy about guests coming back late either.
Parking’s available if you’re driving, though honestly you probably won’t need your car much once you’re here. The whole S-Bahn system is pretty straightforward from this part of town. One tiny thing – the elevators can get a bit slow during busy periods, but that’s hardly a dealbreaker. For the price point and that 8.7 rating, it delivers exactly what you’d hope for: clean, comfortable, well-located, and run by people who seem to actually care about doing their jobs right. It’s the kind of place that doesn’t try to be everything to everyone, just does the fundamentals really well.

Everything was just perfect! Great location, clean and tidy, free water and coffee provided! Parking is very convenient and the location is just right! Very comfortable! Great reception staff! We would be staying again.
What could be improved: Unstable WiFi with many connection failures. Poor BAR staff with unfriendly attitude. They put someone else's bill on our room number which we realised at the checkout, but luckily did not pay it.Amir from Israel – 17 May 2025 (9/10)
clean and confederate, good free parking

The location is perfect for going to the Allianz Arena. We had booked the City East Hotel but my room there was overbooked. So they have moved us to Royal Hotel which is even better.
What could be improved: They didn't refill the hand soap and they don't provide slippers.Rafal from United Kingdom – 8 May 2025 (9/10)
The staff are great, the manager of the hotel is addicted to hard work—great experience and really an experience, Food outstanding.

Very nice hotel with very friendly staff. Just don’t like the view through the window . But we visit for Easter time and the kids had a cute surprises near the door in the morning.
What could be improved: The view through the window.Andrea from United Kingdom – 19 April 2025 (9/10)
Great hotel for visit to central Munich. We had a car, and found that parking in central Munich was approx 30 euros a day. So decided to book this hotel as it is right next to the train station to commute. Buying tickets at the station was easy. The hotel is a bit of a corporate hotel, but has lovely facilities, breakfast room is nicely done although large. But plenty of choice for breakfast, very good breakfast. Comfy room and nice bathroom. Efficient check in, good lifts and parking. There is a shop right next to the hotel and a couple of good restaurants.
What could be improved: All good. The hotel is next to a large Seimens plant but is not obtrusive at all.Elisabeth from Estonia – 3 April 2025 (9/10)
Excellent value for money, wonderful breakfast
