Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about the Leonardo Hotel Munich Arabellapark? It’s one of those places that doesn’t try too hard to impress you — and honestly, that works in its favor. The lobby has this understated modern vibe that feels more “I actually live here” than “look how fancy we are,” which I appreciated after dealing with some of Munich’s more pretentious four-star spots.

The location is actually pretty clever if you know Munich at all. Sure, it’s not right in the thick of Marienplatz madness, but being in Arabellapark means you’re close to the English Garden without the tourist crowds trampling over each other. I mean, you can walk to the Eisbach surfers in about fifteen minutes, and there’s something satisfying about discovering that on your own rather than having it pointed out in some glossy brochure. The U-Bahn connection is solid too — Arabellapark station gets you downtown in maybe twenty minutes, and you’ll actually get a seat during rush hour, unlike if you were staying closer to the center.

What I really liked was how the staff seemed to get that balance between helpful and not hovering. Check-in was smooth (they had my reservation sorted even though I arrived earlier than expected), and the front desk guy actually gave me decent restaurant recommendations that weren’t just the usual tourist traps. The rooms themselves are clean and functional — not Instagram-worthy, but honestly, who cares when you’re exploring Munich all day anyway? The beds are properly comfortable, which matters more than fancy throw pillows, and the bathrooms are modern enough that the shower pressure doesn’t disappoint. I stayed on the seventh floor and it was surprisingly quiet, even with the windows cracked open — though I’d imagine rooms facing the street might pick up more traffic noise. The 7.7 rating feels about right to me; it’s not going to blow your mind, but it does everything well without any major annoyances. Sometimes that’s exactly what you want when you’re using a hotel as a base to explore rather than as a destination itself.

  The room and beds were big, beddings were very comfortable and clean. The hotel staffs are very accommodating and friendly. My stay was totally amazing.

  Comfortable bed, everything needed for the stay is there, windows were able to be cracked but not fully opened due to safety reasons. Breakfast was good and receptionists were very helpful and polite.

  Clean rooms, good breakfast, staff speaks english fluently. Got free tea and coffee. Wifi connection was good. Honestly had no problem with the accomodation.
  
  What could be improved: Far away from the center or a metro. You can take a bus from the hotel to a tram stop that can take you to the center or you can walk about 10 minutes to a metro station. The whole trip to the historical center takes about 30 minutes.
