Overview
First Impressions
The Laimer Hof am Schloss Nymphenburg sits quietly on a residential street in Munich, and honestly, you might walk right past it if you weren’t looking. It’s not trying to be flashy — this three-star property has more of a neighborhood guesthouse feel than a typical hotel. The building itself has that classic Bavarian charm without being overly touristy about it, which I actually appreciated after seeing so many places that try too hard. The understated approach extends throughout the property, creating an authentic local atmosphere.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what makes this place special — you’re literally a few minutes’ walk from Nymphenburg Palace, one of Munich’s most beautiful spots that somehow doesn’t get as crowded as the city center attractions. The Neuhausen-Nymphenburg district feels authentically local, with tree-lined streets and that relaxed vibe you don’t always find near major sights. Couples rate the location 8.9 out of 10, and after spending time here, it’s easy to understand why. You can stroll through the palace gardens in the morning, grab coffee at a neighborhood café, and still be in the heart of Munich within 20 minutes by public transport.
The Room Experience
My room was simple but comfortable — clean lines, decent-sized windows, and everything you actually need without unnecessary frills. The beds are proper German firm (which took me a night to adjust to, but then I slept great), and there’s enough space to spread out your belongings without feeling cramped. What surprised me was how quiet it stays despite being in the city — those residential streets really make a difference when you’re trying to sleep. The soundproofing is genuinely impressive for this category.
Breakfast & Practical Perks
The breakfast setup impressed me more than I expected for a three-star place. They’ve got continental options, but also vegetarian and gluten-free choices that don’t feel like afterthoughts — the buffet actually has variety. The restaurant area gets good morning light, and taking your time over coffee while planning your day felt genuinely relaxing. Plus, they have private parking right at the hotel, which anyone who’s tried to park near Munich’s tourist areas will tell you is worth its weight in gold. The convenience factor here is substantial.
Why Guests Love It
This isn’t the kind of place that’ll wow you with fancy amenities or Instagram-worthy lobbies, but it gets the fundamentals right. You’re staying somewhere that feels connected to actual Munich life rather than tourist Munich, yet you’re still close enough to everything that matters. The staff knows the neighborhood — they’ll point you toward the good local spots and help you figure out the most efficient routes into the city center. For the price point and location, especially if you want to experience that palace-adjacent lifestyle without the premium hotel costs, it’s honestly a smart choice. The value proposition is compelling for travelers seeking authenticity.

Guest Reviews
Great breakfast, fast communication, pet friendly hotel. Everything was great. Thank you so much.
I love the Laimer Hof. I love the location, walkable to the Schloss and with great restaurants, but in a quiet neighborhood. I love the huge and eclectic family rooms with tons of space for a great price. I love love love the excellent breakfast and the friendly, helpful staff. Hot shower. Excellent soap. The Laimer Hof is our place to stay in Munich.
What could be improved: Be aware: stairs. Street parking but it is easy enough. Be aware: eclectic, old furniture. That's part of what we love. Not fussy. A bit faded but elegant.
Value for money at Hotel Laimer Hof in Munich is exceptional. Everything is very clean and the bed was super comfortable. You can regulate your own heating, open the windows wide or just a little, everything works. I will definitely go back!
What could be improved: There was nothing wrong.
Nice cozy place
Comfy beds, great shower, friendly staff, great location
What could be improved: The heating was very hot even on low setting so we had to have windows open which made it drafty, but really not a big issue
The location is good and the surroundings are very quiet
What could be improved: The facility is a little bit old, and the floor makes sounds when walking around
Good location, Nice old building, Good breakfast.
What could be improved: We asked for twin beds which might have been a mistake because it was a very small room.

Location
What could be improved: I understand it’s an old building, so you have to carry your luggage by yourself by staircase. It might cause some noise for other guests
Excellent breakfast, very helpful and friendly staff. Excellent location.
What could be improved: The double bed was lower in the middle than at the edges.
