Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to La Mansion Vi Vadi Hotel on a quiet Schwabing street, you immediately get the sense this isn’t your typical Munich hotel. The building has this refined, almost residential feel that makes you wonder if you’re checking into someone’s elegant townhouse rather than a four-star property. I mean, the entrance alone tells you they’ve put thought into creating something special here — it’s understated but clearly upscale, which honestly sets the tone for everything that follows.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about the Schwabing-Freimann location — you’re in one of Munich’s most charming districts without being stuck in the tourist chaos of Marienplatz. Schwabing has this bohemian history that still shows today, with art galleries, cozy cafes, and locals who actually live here year-round. You can walk to the English Garden in about ten minutes (seriously, I timed it), and the U-Bahn connections get you downtown quickly when you want the big city energy. Couples especially seem to get this location — there’s something romantic about strolling these tree-lined streets that the chain hotels in the city center just can’t match.
The Room Experience
The rooms strike this nice balance between modern comfort and character that’s harder to find than you’d think. They’ve managed to avoid that sterile hotel feeling while still giving you all the amenities you actually need. What caught my attention was how quiet everything stays despite being in the city — the windows do their job well, and you wake up refreshed rather than feeling like you’ve been listening to traffic all night. The bathrooms are well-designed too, with that attention to detail that makes you think someone who actually travels had input on the layout.
Breakfast & Practical Matters
The breakfast setup here actually impressed me more than I expected. They’ve got the continental basics covered, but what’s smart is how they handle dietary restrictions — proper vegetarian options and gluten-free choices that don’t feel like afterthoughts. You know what’s also refreshing? They have parking available, which anyone who’s tried to navigate Munich by car will appreciate. It’s one of those practical touches that shows they understand their guests aren’t all arriving by train with a single backpack.
Why Guests Keep Coming Back
There’s something telling about the fact that this place has more repeat guests than most hotels — people don’t usually return to somewhere that was just “fine.” I think it comes down to La Mansion Vi Vadi Hotel feeling like a discovery rather than a booking. The staff seems to recognize returning faces, the location grows on you the more you explore it, and honestly, once you’ve experienced this quieter side of Munich, the busier hotel districts start to feel a bit overwhelming. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re staying somewhere locals would actually recommend, not just where tour groups end up.

Guest Reviews
Good location, clean room, great breakfast
What could be improved: I tried to check in online, but it did not work well.
We love the Muenchner Freiheit neighborhood and this was a perfect spot right in the center. Perfect for attending concerts at Olympic park as well!
Modern and clean, spacious room, great shower
What could be improved: Balcony afforded no privacy
Great location with clean and comfortable rooms. Very easy to check in and out, ideal for a weekend stay.
The location was very convenient, lots of places to eat nearby, walking distance to the train station. Though the bars were along the sane street, it was never noisy.
The free breakfast (The Classic) was enormous, good for big sized appetites (see photo).
Staff were very helpful and friendly. They prebooked our taxi going to the Hbf station on departure day.
The room was small, but good enough for the price. We didn't get to enjoy the balcony because it was so hot in Munich
The lift is also small, but works perfectly.
What could be improved: No airconditioning, but the staff was nice enough to provide a portable air con to help battle the heat.
The shower is a tight space, the floor can get slippery, so we had to be careful climbing in or getting out. An antislip mat would be helpful.
The room was very spacious, the bar and breakfast was excellent, and the staff friendly.
What could be improved: Nothing.
The staff was amazing! They were welcoming, helpful, warm and friendly.
Breakfast was probably the best we've eaten at a hotel!
The location was so good next to the square with all of the restaurants and the park English Garten which was so beautiful.
Location
What could be improved: No air conditioning
What could be improved: No air conditioning, otherwise everything was perfect.
Location was in the forest. But also not far away from city center (35 min). You can make a jogging there. Very quiet and good quality as a room and as a breakfast there. I will definitely come back soon.
What could be improved: I like everything. I can't tell something that I don't like.
