You know what? The K+K Hotel am Harras really surprised me when I first walked in. I mean, from the outside it’s got that solid, no-nonsense Munich vibe – not flashy, but you can tell it’s well-maintained. The lobby actually feels more intimate than I expected for a 4-star place, with this warm lighting that makes you want to linger with a coffee rather than just rush through.

The thing about staying in the Harras area is that you’re getting the real Munich experience without the tourist chaos of Marienplatz. Honestly, I loved being able to walk to actual neighborhood spots where locals grab their morning pretzels and evening beers. The hotel staff seemed to get this too – they’d recommend places that weren’t in every guidebook, which I appreciated. My room was clean and comfortable, though I’ll be honest, the decor is more “refined business traveler” than “Instagram-worthy boutique.” The bed was actually really good though, and the bathroom had one of those rainfall showers that made me not want to check out. There’s something about the whole place that feels… reliable? Like your German friend’s parents’ house – everything works perfectly, it’s spotless, and there’s a quiet confidence about it all.

What really won me over was how the hotel handles the little things that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. The Wi-Fi never dropped, there’s decent coffee in the lobby at all hours, and – this might sound weird – but the hallways are genuinely quiet. I stayed during Oktoberfest season (yeah, I know, brave choice) and still got solid sleep. The neighborhood itself has this great energy where you’ll see families heading to the nearby parks during the day, then twenty-somethings meeting up for drinks in the evening. It’s got that perfect Munich mix of traditional and modern without feeling forced. The 7.9 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in the city, but it absolutely nails what it is trying to be. If you want to feel like you’re staying in Munich rather than just visiting it, and you don’t need a rooftop infinity pool to validate your vacation, this place gets it right.

  Nice room, clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Parking below in the garage or on the street outside (paid). Metro station nearby and breakfast spots.

  Although slightly outdated, the hotel was clean, spacious, and had all the necessities. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very tasty with a wide variety, and the breakfast staff were welcoming. The location was close to a station that allowed easy commute around Munich.

  Minutes from the S-Bahn and U-bahn station, so super easy to head into the city centre in 20 minutes.The room was very comfortable and quiet. Breakfast had everything you want from a buffet.
