Overview
First Impressions
Walking into kalm stay – munich east, you immediately get that modern, minimalist vibe that actually works — not the sterile kind that feels cold, but something more thoughtful. The name says it all, honestly. This four-star property sits in the Trudering-Riem district, which I’ll admit isn’t the first area most tourists think of, but that’s exactly what makes it interesting. The lobby has this understated elegance that doesn’t try too hard, and the staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay work.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s the thing about Trudering-Riem — it’s one of those neighborhoods that locals know but visitors often miss. You’re actually in a really smart spot here, about 20 minutes from Munich‘s city center by S-Bahn, but without the tourist crowds and inflated prices. The area has this authentic residential feel with plenty of green spaces nearby, and you know what? Sometimes it’s nice to experience a city like people actually live in it. Plus, there’s parking available right on site, which anyone who’s tried to park in central Munich will tell you is worth its weight in gold.
The Room Experience
The room design follows that same calm aesthetic — clean lines, neutral colors, and everything you need without unnecessary clutter. I mean, the beds are genuinely comfortable, not just hotel-marketing comfortable, and the bathrooms are well-designed with good water pressure (details that matter when you’re actually staying somewhere). The windows are properly soundproofed too, which you’ll appreciate since you’re near a main street. Storage space is thoughtfully planned — they clearly understand that real travelers have actual luggage and need places to put things.
Dining & Amenities
The breakfast setup is solid without being fancy — fresh options, good coffee, and they don’t rush you out the door. There’s no full-service restaurant on site, but honestly, that works in this location because you’ve got authentic local spots within walking distance. The common areas have this relaxed atmosphere where you can actually work on your laptop or just unwind without feeling like you’re in someone’s way. They’ve got the basics covered really well — reliable WiFi, helpful front desk, and those small touches that show they’re paying attention.
Why Guests Love It
What really stands out is how this place seems to attract couples looking for something different from the typical Munich hotel experience. The 8.6 rating makes sense when you spend time here — it’s not trying to be everything to everyone, but what it does, it does well. You get that sense of calm the name promises, genuine value for money, and a base that lets you explore Munich like someone who actually lives here rather than just passing through. It’s the kind of place you’d book again, which honestly says more than any marketing copy ever could.
Best hotels in Munich range from charming boutique properties near Marienplatz to elegant Bavarian-style hotels with stunning views of the Alps and historic city center.

Guest Reviews
Comfortable small apartment with cooking facilities and fridge.
What could be improved: A bit out of town, but close to a subway stop (Moosfeld on the U2 subway line). It is however perfect if you want to go to the Messe.
The place so good almost smart
What could be improved: Location at night it's dark in the wao
Good for price, easy to find, really close to metro
Clean and new place, top top
Great location 5 minte walk from the meteo
What could be improved: Beds no roo comfy, more pillows
Everything is "smart", you get a code and everything goes very smoothly because of that. The room was very clean and totally fine for the night.
What could be improved: The location is in the industrial part of Munich with a few strip clubs around. There was no problem for us with that but maybe some people would take offence in that.
nice stay and good location
cleanliness and room amenities.
What could be improved: no staff present during holidays.
It was such a beautiful experience. I accidentally left behind two large suitcases and 250 euros. The cleaning staff found them and tried to contact me — they called me nearly 20 times! Unfortunately, my phone was on silent, so I didn’t hear any of the calls.
Thankfully, I was able to arrange with the place I stayed to pick up everything the next day. They had kindly kept everything safe for me. I’m truly grateful — and honestly, just really happy about how everything turned out.
Rooms great and very convenient check in and out
