The apartment itself feels like staying at your German friend’s place – if your German friend happened to have a thing for Bavarian history and decent taste in furniture. The Ludwig theme isn’t over the top (thank god), just some thoughtful touches that remind you you’re in Bavaria without beating you over the head with lederhosen imagery. What I really appreciated were the little details that show someone actually cares about this place – good coffee in the kitchen, proper blackout curtains that actually work, and a shower with real water pressure. The 7.4 rating makes sense to me; it’s solidly good without being perfect. I mean, the wifi can be a bit spotty in the bedroom, and you can hear the occasional tram rumbling by, but honestly? That’s just Munich being Munich.

Here’s what you need to know about the location – Untergiesing is one of those neighborhoods that locals love but visitors often miss. You’ve got the Isar river practically on your doorstep, perfect for those morning runs or evening walks that make you feel like you’re living here rather than just visiting. The Giesing station is close enough that you can be in Marienplatz in about 15 minutes, but far enough that you’re not dealing with tourist crowds every time you step outside. There’s a fantastic Turkish bakery about two blocks down that’ll ruin you for hotel breakfast forever, and a proper Bavarian pub around the corner where you can actually have a conversation without shouting over other tourists. The area gets pretty quiet after 10 PM – which is either perfect or boring depending on what kind of trip you’re planning. Parking can be tricky if you’ve got a car, but there are usually spots if you don’t mind walking a block or two. The whole setup works especially well if you’re planning to explore beyond the typical Munich checklist – you’re positioned perfectly for day trips south toward the Alps, and honestly, coming back to this neighborhood after a day of sightseeing feels like coming home rather than returning to just another hotel room.
