Hotel Description
Look, I’ve stayed at my fair share of Munich hotels, and honestly? The HYPERION caught me off guard in the best way possible. You know how some five-star places try so hard to impress that they end up feeling sterile? This isn’t one of those – there’s actually some personality here, which is refreshing.
The building itself has this modern sleekness that somehow doesn’t clash with Munich’s traditional vibe. When I walked into the lobby, I was hit with this subtle blend of leather and something faintly floral – not overpowering like some places that pump artificial scents everywhere. The check-in was surprisingly smooth (I mean, German efficiency is real, but hotel efficiency is another story sometimes). The staff genuinely seemed to know what they were doing, and more importantly, they spoke English without that slightly annoyed expression you sometimes get.
What really sold me on this place was the attention to details that actually matter. The rooms are spacious enough that you’re not playing suitcase Tetris, and the blackout curtains – well, they actually black out the room. You’d be surprised how many “luxury” hotels mess this up. The beds are properly firm without feeling like you’re sleeping on concrete, and the bathrooms have that rainfall shower setup that doesn’t leave you standing in a sad drizzle. Plus, the Wi-Fi actually works throughout the building, which honestly shouldn’t be noteworthy in 2024 but here we are.
Location-wise, you’re well-positioned without being stuck in the tourist chaos. It’s quiet enough for decent sleep (even on weekends, which is saying something for Munich), but you’re not stranded in some business district wasteland either. I could walk to plenty of spots without needing to figure out the U-Bahn every single time, though the public transport connections are solid when you want them. The area has that lived-in Munich feel – actual locals grabbing coffee, not just tour groups taking selfies.
The service hits that sweet spot between attentive and not hovering over you constantly. Housekeeping was thorough without rearranging all my stuff in some bizarre feng shui experiment. Room service arrived when they said it would, and the food was actually good – not just edible hotel food, but something I’d order again. The concierge gave me recommendations that weren’t obviously sponsored (always a good sign) and steered me toward a couple local spots I never would’ve found otherwise.
Is it perfect? Well, the minibar prices are exactly what you’d expect from a five-star hotel – ouch. And the gym, while decent, gets pretty crowded during typical workout hours. But honestly, these are minor gripes when everything else works so well. For the price point and the experience, it delivers on what it promises without the pretentious attitude some Munich luxury hotels seem to cultivate. If you’re looking for a place that feels polished but not stuffy, and you don’t mind paying for quality, the HYPERION is worth considering.
Exploring Munich offers visitors an unforgettable journey through Bavaria’s heart, from its magnificent beer halls to its royal palaces and stunning Alpine scenery.

It’s a neat and spacious hotel with great facilities, a nice bar, and breakfast area.
The staff were excellent. Special thanks to Janet Kelly at the front desk and the bar staff who were also wonderful. We had a small delay checking in but Janet kindly gave us a drink voucher to use at the bar – nice customer service overall.Paven from Romania – 10 May 2025 (9/10)
Excellent stay in Munchen, we have been there for Bauma Fair. It is really close to train station, bus station and close enough to city center. A really modern hotel, with high end facilities. Really recommend it!

I don't usually leave reviews, I don't waste time on that. But in this case, I want to share my impressions, which clearly exceeded my expectations. The staff is excellent. Everyone is focused on helping you and making your stay as comfortable as possible. They kindly stored my luggage for several days. They upgraded my room for free. Every request I made was met with a “yes.” Everyone speaks excellent English. The price is very fair. The only – the Hotel is not located in the tourist center, but if you're willing to walk or drive a little, everything else is far above expectations for the price.
