You know what struck me first about House of Records? The name actually makes sense once you’re inside – there’s something almost archival about the place, like it’s quietly collecting stories from every guest who passes through. It’s tucked away in one of those spots you’d walk right past if you weren’t looking for it, which honestly is part of its charm. Don’t expect marble lobbies or doormen in white gloves – this is a solid 3-star spot that punches way above its weight class, and that 8.8 rating isn’t an accident.

The rooms have this lived-in quality that feels authentic rather than trying too hard. I mean, the furniture’s not going to end up in a design magazine, but everything works exactly like it should, and there’s actual character in the details – maybe it’s the way the morning light hits the windows, or how the floors have just enough creak to remind you you’re somewhere with history. The staff here actually seem to know what they’re doing, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how rare that is. Check-in was smooth, no weird hidden fees popping up, and when I had a question about the area, the desk clerk gave me directions like someone who actually lives in the neighborhood, not someone reading from a script.

What really gets me is how this place manages to feel both relaxed and efficient at the same time. The WiFi doesn’t cut out every five minutes, the shower has proper water pressure (seriously underrated), and the walls are thick enough that you’re not getting a play-by-play of your neighbor’s phone calls. It’s the kind of spot where business travelers come back because it just works, but it’s got enough personality that you don’t feel like you’re sleeping in a corporate cube. The whole vibe is sort of… quietly confident? Like they know they’ve got something good going and don’t need to shout about it. If you’re looking for Instagram-worthy infinity pools, keep scrolling – but if you want a place that’ll take care of the basics really well and let you focus on why you’re actually traveling, House of Records gets it right.

  We had a very good and comfortable stay at House of Records. We stayed in a room with two bunk beds and we found it clean and functional. It is located in a quiet street in the outskirts of the city with a private parking. We felt very welcome and particularly valued the friendliness and sense of hospitality of the managers.

I’d read reviews and felt confident in my choice, but from the perspective of someone who walked in with a lot of anxiety: The property and the staff completely exceeded every expectation she had. They were incredibly kind and helpful to us, to our kids, and ensured that we had everything we needed during our stay. The beds were more comfortable than the 4-5* hotels I’ve stayed in recently in both Deutschland and the USA.
