Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Hotel Stadt Pasing on Blumenauer Strasse, you immediately get the sense this is a place that knows its neighborhood well. It’s one of those three-star properties that doesn’t try to be something it’s not — instead, it focuses on doing the basics really, really well. The building has that solid German efficiency about it, and honestly, after staying here, I can see why couples keep coming back to this part of Munich. The location offers an authentic slice of local life without the overwhelming tourist crowds.
The Pasing Advantage
Here’s what I love about staying in Pasing-Obermenzing — you’re actually living like a local rather than being stuck in the touristy center. This neighborhood has its own rhythm, with proper bakeries and cafes where you’ll hear more German than English. The S-Bahn connection means you can be in Marienplatz in about 15 minutes, but when you come back in the evening, you’re in a quieter, more residential area. I mean, there’s something refreshing about walking to dinner without dodging tour groups every few steps. The balance between accessibility and tranquility makes this district particularly appealing for travelers seeking genuine Munich experiences.
Your Room and Comfort
The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d expect from a well-run German hotel — clean lines, functional furniture, and everything working as it should. Nothing fancy, but the bed was comfortable and the shower had proper water pressure (you know how hit-or-miss that can be). What struck me was how quiet it was at night — double-glazed windows do their job well here. There’s free WiFi that actually works, and the heating system keeps things cozy during Munich’s cooler months. The attention to practical comfort details makes a real difference in your daily experience.
Breakfast and Practical Perks
The breakfast buffet deserves a mention because it’s one of those spreads that sets you up properly for the day. Fresh bread rolls, local cold cuts, decent coffee — all the German breakfast staples done right. I actually found myself looking forward to it each morning, which says something. And here’s a practical bonus that’ll save you money and hassle — there’s free private parking right at the hotel. If you’re driving in Munich, you’ll know how valuable that is.
Why Guests Love It
What really makes Hotel Stadt Pasing work is that it understands its role perfectly. You’re not paying for marble lobbies or rooftop bars — you’re getting a solid base in a genuine Munich neighborhood with easy access to everything that matters. The staff seems to genuinely care about making sure you’re sorted, and there’s something to be said for that kind of straightforward hospitality. Couples particularly seem to appreciate the quieter location while still being well-connected to the city center. It’s the kind of place where you sleep well, start your day properly, and spend your time exploring Munich rather than hanging around the hotel. This hotel represents excellent value for travelers prioritizing authentic neighborhood experiences.

Guest Reviews
Very good breakfast and also friendly staff. car Parking good and walking distance to station to get into town. A nice restauarant a few minutes away
What could be improved: No lift - which would have been helpful for getting bags to second floor. Of course didn't like the rate which was high due to the Bauma Exhibition - one hour away =by train! But its normal
Lovely hotel in Pasing.
The room was very clean, quiet and spacious. Modern bathroom, with all the toiletries you need.
Friendly staff and a nice breakfast with great selection of food and drinks.
Friendly staff with well maintained and spacious rooms.
What could be improved: Breakfast could have more options.
Staff extremely helpful. Overall hotel was clean and tidy.
What could be improved: Some people may not like the fact that the balcony of the hotel overlooks a graveyard. It should ideally be mentioned whilest booking. While it didnt matter to me, but I suspect it will to a lot of people.
Helpful staff, easy checkin, parking
The hotel is really nice and clean and the rooms very quiet. My room backed onto a forested graveyard which might spook some people out but for me I thought it was pretty and very calming so enjoyed that - something different!
The cleaning staff were 10/10 and did a great job, even cleaning during the weekends.
Warm rooms, comfy beds and shower was strong.
What could be improved: The location was a challenge. Really, really, really far from anywhere. It's a long slog of a walk to Munich-Pasing train station and there is absolutely nothing near the hotel. It feels almost countryside. It's about 30mins in a taxi to the centre of Munich.
It's probably more suitable for all-day-out events when you would leave in the morning and come back late at night - work days, or Oktoberfest, or going to Munich's countryside or something similar where you are out 100% of the day.
Not for exploring the city because it takes you about an hour to get into the historic centre so you can´t exactly nip back when you´re out.
Also, some reception staff didn't speak a word of English which is a little odd, I get it's in Germany but when my German is better than their English there is something wrong...
easy Access to opnv
What could be improved: keine Aufzug
Quiet motel-like stay in Pasing close to park and river. Clean, basic room with self-check in. Breakfast costs extra but we didn’t try it so I cannot comment.
What could be improved: On 2nd floor it was quite warm in early October with no air conditioning. In summer it might be uncomfortable. Opening the large windows helped cool the room.
Large room with nice balcony
Quiet neighborhood
Close to bus stop
What could be improved: No lift
Very clean, no problems with staff, reasonable price, free parking
What could be improved: Bit far from the S Bahn or tram
