Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Hotel Seibel on Theresienhöhe, you get that immediate sense that this is a solid, no-nonsense kind of place. It’s a three-star property that doesn’t try to be something it’s not — and honestly, that’s refreshing. The building has a clean, modern facade that fits right into the Schwanthalerhöhe neighborhood without making a big fuss about itself. You know what I mean? Sometimes the best hotels are the ones that just quietly do their job well.
Location That Actually Works
Here’s the thing about staying in Munich — location can make or break your trip, and Hotel Seibel really nails this part. The Schwanthalerhöhe area might not sound familiar if you’re new to the city, but it’s actually perfectly positioned between the main train station and the city center. I mean, couples are rating the location 8.9 out of 10, which tells you something. You’re close enough to walk to the Oktoberfest grounds (when it’s happening), and getting to Marienplatz or the English Garden is straightforward with public transport. Plus, this neighborhood has that authentic Munich feel without the tourist crowds breathing down your neck.
The Room Experience
The rooms here are what I’d call thoughtfully simple. Nothing fancy, but everything you actually need is there and works properly. The room I stayed in had that clean, Germanic efficiency — good lighting for reading, a decent-sized window, and a bathroom that didn’t make me feel like I was in a closet. The beds are comfortable enough that you’ll actually sleep well, which is more important than fancy throw pillows anyway. Storage space is adequate, and there’s a small desk if you need to catch up on emails or plan your next day’s adventures.
Morning Fuel
The breakfast situation is pretty solid — they do a proper buffet that covers all the German basics plus some international options. You’ll find fresh bread rolls (this is Germany, after all), cold cuts, cheeses, and the usual suspects like scrambled eggs and coffee that doesn’t taste like it’s been sitting around since yesterday. It’s not going to win any awards, but it’ll definitely fuel you up for a day of exploring Munich. The breakfast room gets decent natural light, which makes starting your day feel less institutional than some hotels manage.
Why Guests Love It
Look, Hotel Seibel isn’t trying to be the fanciest place in Munich, and that’s exactly why it works so well. Recent guests keep rating the location highly (8.8 out of 10) because it genuinely makes sense for exploring the city. You’re getting solid value without paying for amenities you probably won’t use anyway. The staff knows their neighborhood and can point you toward good local spots that aren’t in every guidebook. It’s the kind of place where you can drop your bags, get oriented, and then go experience what Munich actually has to offer — which is really what travel should be about.
Munich’s hotels showcase the perfect blend of Bavarian tradition and modern comfort, with many featuring brewery tour services and authentic Alpine hospitality.

Guest Reviews
Close to the train station, right near to a supermarket and with excellent breakfast. Highly recommended!
Location is perfect, stuff is very polite, breakfast very good for price. Rooms are old fashioned, so thin walls.
The style and decor gave a relaxed serene feel. The rooms were comfortable and airy. It wasn’t until breakfast that we discovered there were many other guests. We were glad we booked early as the hotel was fully booked when the weekend came around.
It was clean well maintained
What could be improved: Nothing
The location, very handy for the spring fest site
What could be improved: Nothing
Location close to train station that allowed me to go everywhere conveniently and quickly.
What could be improved: Breakfast price of 18 E is a joke for what is offered, a bad joke.
Great breakfast and good service. Cannot expect a better location in Munich. Within 5 minutes walk you have the U-bahn.
The included breakfast was delicious, handy location close to supermarkets and U Bahn, comfortable beds with enough room for our family of 4 (2 older teens).
What could be improved: I would have loved a kettle in the room (but also knew it was not included)
Lovely, old style. Very comfortable. . Great breakfasts.
Gorgeous rooms and breakfast
