Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Hotel Säntis, you immediately get that feeling of stumbling onto something good that’s not trying too hard to impress. It’s tucked away on a quiet residential street in Sendling-Westpark, and honestly, that’s part of its charm — you’re staying in a real Munich neighborhood rather than some touristy bubble. The three-star rating might not sound flashy, but this place punches well above its weight. I mean, when a hotel has more repeat guests than most other properties, that tells you something right there.
The Neighborhood Advantage
Sendling-Westpark is one of those Munich districts that locals actually live in, which means you’ll find proper bakeries, neighborhood pubs, and that authentic German atmosphere without the crowds. You’re close enough to the city center that getting around is easy, but far enough out that you can actually park your car — and yes, they have private parking, which anyone who’s driven in Munich will appreciate. Couples seem to particularly love this spot (they rate the location 8.7), and I get why. There’s something romantic about wandering these tree-lined streets in the evening, maybe grabbing a beer at a local Gasthaus before heading back.
The Rooms and Comfort
The rooms strike that perfect balance between comfortable and unpretentious. You won’t find marble bathrooms or designer furniture, but everything works exactly as it should, and the beds are genuinely comfortable — which, let’s be honest, is what actually matters after a long day of sightseeing. The staff clearly takes pride in keeping things spotless, and there’s free WiFi that actually works properly. It’s the kind of place where you can spread out your maps and plan tomorrow’s adventures without feeling like you’re messing up some pristine showroom.
Food That Actually Matters
Here’s where Hotel Säntis really surprised me — the food is legitimately good. Not just “decent hotel food,” but meals that recent guests actively recommend to others. The breakfast buffet covers all the bases with vegetarian and gluten-free options, so everyone in your group will find something they can eat. You know what I appreciate? They don’t just throw together a sad continental spread and call it a day. There’s clearly thought put into the menu, and it shows in the quality.
Why Guests Keep Coming Back
The 8.2 overall rating reflects what you actually experience here — solid, reliable, and genuinely pleasant without any pretense. This isn’t about flashy amenities or Instagram-worthy lobbies; it’s about getting the fundamentals right and creating an atmosphere where you feel welcomed rather than processed. The fact that so many guests return speaks volumes about the consistency and care that goes into running this place. If you want to experience Munich like someone who actually lives there, rather than just passing through, Hotel Säntis gives you that authentic base without sacrificing comfort or convenience.
Exploring Munich offers visitors an unforgettable journey through Bavaria’s heart, from its magnificent beer halls to its royal palaces and stunning Alpine scenery.

Guest Reviews
Room was big and clean, very well made. Breakfast was delicious, and the attached restaurant is lovely. Parking is on site and convenient. Location is in a quiet residential area, but there are shops and a bus station nearby to get to wherever you need to.
What could be improved: Location is a little out of the way compared to the main metro area. Hotel also has a slightly odd lobby layout.
Very clean and friendly hotel. Munich was busy when I visited. Staying outside the main city in a smaller hotel had its advantages - pleasant quiet location with a fast connection to the city centre and a comfortable place to stay.
What could be improved: Although the room was expensive, it was relatively cheap for Munich. However that is just hotel prices in Munich.
Near underground station and bus station, quiet neighbourhood and a good room, warm and clean , friendly staff ,breakfast buffet with many options and the most kind waiter!
Really nice staff, they were super kind and gentle and with a good mood. The breakfast was also excellent. The hotel is a few minutes away from the subway station which facilitates the access to the city center.
Very nice hotel. U-Bahn is a 5 minute walk away and a bus depot is right outside the hotel. All the staff were supper friendly and the breakfast was your typical German style with a plentiful amount. I’d stay here again.
What could be improved: Nothing
everything was perfect, spacious clean rooms, great facilities and location was great to get to the train to get to Oktoberfest. Breakfast and staff were awesome. would stay here again.
The hotel exceeded the 3 stars. My room was modern, clean had everything I needed. The staff made this hotel stand out. Our visit was to attend Oktoberfest, a busy time for Munich hotels, but nothing was any trouble for them. The breakfast team were marvellous, dealing with 5 Oktoberfest broken men, each day. The location was ideal for travel into Munich centre.
What could be improved: Nothing.
Very clean,comfortable ,very friendly staff
What could be improved: Maybe air conditioning would help
Breakfast was great and the service the most pleasant and likable person ever.
Interesting little property.
