But this place actually surprised me in the best way possible. You walk in and it’s not some cramped afterthought squeezed between platform announcements and döner stands. The lobby has this unexpectedly calm vibe, and honestly, the soundproofing is way better than you’d think it would be right next to all those trains.

The thing about staying here is you’re literally in the thick of everything without feeling overwhelmed by it. I could roll out of bed and catch the S-Bahn to Marienplatz in maybe eight minutes – no exaggeration. And you know what’s actually genius about this location? All those late-night food trucks and 24-hour spots around Hauptbahnhof become your personal room service. There’s this Turkish place on Bayerstraße (maybe a three-minute walk) that stays open until 3 AM, and their lahmacun will change your life after a long day of sightseeing. The rooms themselves are… well, they’re solidly three-star. Clean sheets, decent shower pressure, and those little touches that show someone actually thought about what travelers need. The Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every five minutes like some places I’ve stayed, and the heating actually works – which matters more than you’d think during Munich winters.

What really won me over, though, is how the staff just gets it. They know you’re probably catching an early train or coming in late from the airport, so check-in is refreshingly straightforward. No unnecessary small talk when you’re dragging luggage and jet-lagged, but they’re genuinely helpful when you need directions or restaurant recommendations. One guy at the front desk told me about this quiet beer garden in Maxvorstadt that I never would’ve found otherwise. The 8.0 rating makes total sense once you stay here – it’s not trying to be fancy, it’s just trying to be exactly what you need in that moment. And honestly? For the price point and the location, you could do a lot worse. I’ve definitely paid more for hotels where I spent half my vacation time just getting to places I actually wanted to see.

  It’s clean and calm, and the owner allowed me to check in earlier.
  
  What could be improved: The rooms in the same building – VI VADI HOTEL – cost much less. It is not advertised as a room in the same building. Also it is advertised as having a washing machine but it does not have one – you need to pay for it in addition.
