Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Hotel Prinzregent München Messe, you immediately get that feeling of “okay, this is actually really nice.” It’s one of those four-star places that doesn’t try too hard but gets everything right — the lobby has this warm, modern German elegance without being stuffy. The staff genuinely seems happy to see you, which honestly makes such a difference after a long travel day. I mean, you can tell within the first five minutes whether a hotel really cares about its guests, and this place clearly does.
The Trudering-Riem Advantage
Here’s what I love about staying in Trudering-Riem — you’re close enough to Munich to feel connected but far enough out to actually breathe. The hotel sits right on Riemer Strasse, and while that might sound like you’re stuck on some busy road, it’s actually perfect for getting around. You’ve got easy access to the trade fair grounds (hence the “Messe” in the name), but more importantly, you can zip into the city center without dealing with all the tourist chaos. Couples seem to really get this — they rate the location super highly, and I totally understand why.
Your Room and Comfort
The room I stayed in was exactly what you want after exploring Munich all day — clean lines, comfortable bed, and everything just works. The windows are properly soundproofed, which you’ll appreciate since you’re near a main street. What really impressed me was the attention to detail — good lighting for reading, plenty of outlets where you actually need them, and a bathroom that doesn’t feel like an afterthought. It’s not flashy, but it’s thoughtfully designed by people who clearly travel themselves.
Food That Actually Matters
You know what’s rare? Finding a hotel restaurant that locals would actually choose to eat at. This place has genuinely good food — not just “good for hotel food,” but actually good. The breakfast spread is impressive with continental, vegetarian, vegan, and American options, so everyone in your group will find something they’re excited about. I watched people come back day after day, and honestly, the repeat guest thing makes total sense when the kitchen takes this much care.
Why Guests Love It
There’s something to be said for a hotel that people return to, and this place has more repeat visitors than most properties I’ve stayed at. I think it comes down to those little things — like having parking right at the hotel (which is actually a big deal in Munich), or the way the staff remembers your coffee preference after the second day. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in the city, but it nails the fundamentals so well that you end up recommending it to friends. The 8.8 rating feels about right — it’s the kind of place that exceeds expectations without making a big show of it.

Guest Reviews
Very nice rooms, nice restaurant onsite, great breakfast, nice staff, good public transportation nearby.
Flexibility, availability, service
The room was very nice, in traditional style, clean and tidy. There were also some policies of the hotel which indicated a mindset orientated to sustainable tourism. We loved it.
What could be improved: Nothing
Very good breakfast!
What could be improved: Some moisture smell in the bathroom.
Great place with a wonderful restaurant serving good food from Bayern in above quality of most restaurants we tried. Excellent breakfast and overall great value. Close to the Muenchen Messe and by car 15-20 min from downtown Munich.
What could be improved: Automated checking a bit cumbersome. But nothing to complain about.
Very clean and very friendly reception
What could be improved: It is a bit far from the centre but was convenient for us
