Hotel Description
You know what? Hotel Prinz really caught me off guard in the best possible way. I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up, I wasn’t expecting much from the exterior (it’s got that classic European hotel look that could go either way), but the moment I stepped inside, there was this immediate sense that someone actually cares about this place. The lobby has this warm, lived-in elegance – not the sterile perfection you get at chain hotels, but something that feels like it’s been thoughtfully curated over time.
What really sold me was how the staff seemed to genuinely know their stuff about the area. The woman at the front desk didn’t just hand me a tourist map and send me on my way – she actually marked up specific streets where I’d find the better cafes (not the touristy ones) and mentioned which tram stops to avoid during rush hour. That kind of local intel is worth its weight in gold when you’re trying to navigate a new city. The rooms themselves hit that sweet spot between comfortable and characterful. Mine had these heavy curtains that actually blocked out light (thank god, because I’m a terrible sleeper), and the bed was one of those firm European ones that I initially thought I’d hate but ended up loving. Sure, the bathroom was a bit compact – I mean, we’re not talking luxury suite territory here – but everything worked perfectly, the water pressure was solid, and there were enough outlets for all my devices without having to unplug the lamp.
I stayed during what must have been a busy season because the breakfast room was pretty packed in the mornings, but honestly, that just added to the atmosphere. You could hear snippets of conversation in four different languages, and the spread was genuinely good – not just continental basics but local specialties that changed throughout the week. The coffee was strong enough to wake the dead, which is exactly how I like it. What impressed me most was how quiet it got at night despite being in what seemed like a pretty central location. I could hear the occasional tram in the distance, but it was more soothing than disruptive – one of those urban lullabies that reminds you you’re somewhere interesting. The whole place just has this authentic, unpretentious vibe that made me feel like I was staying somewhere real rather than some corporate hospitality bubble. It’s the kind of hotel where you’d actually want to hang out in the lobby with a book and a drink, watching other travelers come and go. For a solid four-star experience that doesn’t try too hard but delivers on the things that actually matter, Hotel Prinz gets it right.

Filip from Slovakia – 23 May 2025 (9/10)
Large room, cleanliness, great location.
What could be improved: Smoking should be prohibited directly in front of the hotel. Whenever someone smoked outside, the smoke would go into the room or onto the balcony. As non-smokers, this bothered us a lot.Raistlin from Switzerland – 6 April 2025 (9/10)
Huge room with a lot of windows and a balcony.
What could be improved: Shower cabin could have been a little bigger.Malgorzata from United States – 29 March 2025 (9/10)

Location was good and the breakfast was not rich, but suficient. Good coffee by the way.
Room was big enough and it was warm. I put radiators on scale 1 and still it was very warm beside that on the street it was -5/ -8
Free minibar (2 beers and 2 soft drinks) was also very nice from hote side. Small things make great friendship
What could be improved: Matrace 🙁 matrace was I think really old and laid doen heavily…even springs you can feel). Probably only my room hope soMartin from United Kingdom – 9 February 2025 (9/10)
There wasn't tea making facilities in the room upon arrival, just asked at reception and was handed a tray with all the tea and coffee you would want and that important kettle.
The room was spacious and clean, and there was plenty of hot water for showers-baths.
The bed was comfortable, and the room was warm.
Breakfast was plentiful and was very nice.
What could be improved: There's nothing to grumble about!Goran from Croatia – 22 December 2024 (8/10)
The staff was very welcoming and helpful directing us and suggesting good restaurants around. The room was spacious and the breakfast was good. It is a very quiet neighborhood. The hotel has an underground parking on additional cost.
What could be improved: The room was a bit outdated but clean. The bathroom also needs an upgrade. We happened to get a room on the first floor overlooking the street. It had a great view towards the city centre, but blinding curtains could not hide the street lamp glow during the night.Cfromb from United Kingdom – 10 December 2024 (9/10)
Very comfortable, clean, spacious room. Recently refurbished. Lovely hotel location in nice quiet area close to the Deutsche Museum. Easy transport access to the rest of the city. Good breakfast. Friendly, helpful staff.
What could be improved: No 24hr reception cover.Nicola from United Kingdom – 10 December 2024 (8/10)
Friendly staff, comfortable beds and lobby area, good breakfast and quiet but pretty convenient location
What could be improved: Some updating of shower and curtains needed but otherwise spacious comfortable room with plenty of wardrobe space. Tea and coffee making facility in room would have been much appreciated.
