It’s this perfectly positioned spot in Unterföhring that somehow feels both connected to Munich and refreshingly removed from all the tourist chaos. The lobby honestly surprised me with how spacious it felt, and there’s this natural light thing happening that makes everything feel warm without being stuffy.

What really won me over was how the staff seemed to actually know the area beyond just pointing you toward Marienplatz. When I asked about getting to the English Garden without dealing with crowds, the front desk guy – I think his name was Klaus – gave me this insider route that involved catching the S1 to a stop most tourists never hear about. The rooms are solid four-star quality without trying too hard to impress you with unnecessary gadgets. Clean lines, comfortable beds (seriously, I slept better than I have in months), and these windows that actually open properly – you’d be amazed how many hotels mess that up. The bathroom was one of those efficient German designs where everything just works and the water pressure doesn’t disappoint.

Here’s the thing about Unterföhring that most people don’t realize – it’s where a lot of Munich’s media companies are based, so you get this interesting mix of business travelers and locals who know good food. There’s this little bakery about a five-minute walk from the hotel that opens ridiculously early and makes these pretzels that are honestly better than what you’ll find in the city center for twice the price. The hotel’s breakfast is decent, nothing revolutionary, but they source locally and the coffee is actually drinkable. I stayed during one of those gray February weeks when Munich can feel pretty bleak, but being able to walk along the Isar River (it’s right there, maybe ten minutes away) made such a difference. The whole area gets quiet after business hours in a way that feels peaceful rather than dead. Parking was straightforward – they’ve got their own garage, which saved me from that special kind of Munich parking stress. Rating-wise, that 8.4 feels about right; it’s the kind of place that doesn’t have any major flaws and gets the important stuff right without necessarily blowing you away. Perfect for when you want to experience Munich like someone who lives there rather than just passing through.

  I was there only one night during the trip to Italy. I can say that it is a really good hotel for one night and more as there is a big and nice lake. there is a restaurant and bar so you can have dinner or something to drink. when I was there, there was a sushi day. breakfast was delicious.

  Great value for money. Excellent breakfast. Great staff and flexible on check out time. Lovely quiet location a ten minute walk from the S-Bahn. On the S8 Airport line made for an easy journey.
  
  What could be improved: It is around 25-30 minutes travel time from the centre of Munich, however this means it is quiet and a lot cheaper than centrally located hotels.

  The hotel was in a nice, quiet location. A 10 min walk from the S-Bahn station, which is 20 mins from the airport and 20 mins to Marienplatz. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, served in a large room and can sit out in the garden when weather warm. There is also a bar open for drinks in the evening.
