Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about Hotel Kreis Residenz München? Walking in, I honestly expected another cookie-cutter business hotel – I mean, the name doesn’t exactly scream “boutique charm” – but this place actually has some serious character. It’s tucked into one of those classic Munich neighborhoods where you’ll hear church bells in the morning and smell fresh pretzels from the bakery around the corner. The lobby has this understated elegance thing going on, sort of modern but with these gorgeous period details that remind you you’re in a city with actual history.

The rooms are what really sold me though. I’ve stayed in plenty of four-star places that feel like they were decorated by committee, but whoever designed these spaces actually gets what travelers want. The beds are properly firm (thank god), the lighting is warm instead of that harsh hotel fluorescent nonsense, and there’s real soundproofing – which matters more than you’d think in Munich, especially if you’re here during Oktoberfest season when the whole city turns into one giant party. The bathrooms are spacious too, with those rainfall showerheads that actually work and don’t just dribble lukewarm water on your head. Small thing, but the toiletries smell amazing – some kind of subtle bergamot situation that I’m still trying to track down.

What I really appreciate is how the staff knows their stuff without being pushy about it. The concierge – honestly can’t remember his name but he’s this older guy with perfect English – steered me toward this incredible schnitzel place about ten minutes’ walk away that I never would have found otherwise. No touristy nonsense, just locals and the kind of authentic Bavarian food that makes you understand why people are obsessed with this cuisine. The breakfast spread is solid too, proper German bread and local cheeses, though it gets pretty busy around 8:30 when all the business travelers descend. If you’re not an early riser, I’d suggest going closer to 9:45 when things calm down. The whole place just feels like someone put actual thought into the guest experience instead of just checking boxes on some corporate hospitality manual. That 9.1 rating isn’t an accident – this is the kind of place that makes you want to come back to Munich just so you can stay here again.

  Nice staff !!! Beautiful rooms, good breakfast!! Easy parking, not expensive at all like 7€ per night. Only “problem” the heating of the bathroom, at certain point the floor was so warm that we couldn’t use the bathroom during the whole night, we had to wear shoes but it felt like a sauna inside. But for the rest all great.

  The room is very spacious and clean. The location is far from the city (30-40min), but easily reachable with public transport. The breakfast is very complete and delicious. Best cost-benefit! We would definitely come back.

  Free room upgrade was included in my booking. Room was spacious and clean. Kitchenwares were minimal, but was enough for two people's short stay (It's a residence hotel anyway). Located in a quiet and calm place.
  
  I especially liked breakfast. Although the kitchen was small, foods were assorted.
  
  Front desk staff was also kind and friendly. I needed to print out tickets. When I asked the front desk, he helped me without hesitation.
  
  The only thing somewhat negative is the distance to the nearby metro or bus station. I mainly used the Moosefeld station while staying here. It's about 800 meters.

  Hotel is very pleasant and cosy. It is located very close to the highway and 15 min walk from Ubahn which takes you in the center of the city.
  It has its own parking place which has to be additinaly payed but fee is very reasonable.
  Part of the city where the hotel is situated is very calm and neat and has some very nice restaurants.

  The room was super clean.
  Also very quiet.
  The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed.
  Many parking spaces outside on the street but also in the hotel.
  Breakfast was satisfactory.
  
  I would like to find disposable slippers in the room as well as some more toiletries in the bathroom as
  we booked the executive suite and the basic room.
  
  Moreover you have to pay for the baby bed. They prepared for us the sofa bed so we had enough space to sleep but i would prefer the baby bed.
