Hotel Freisinger Hof Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Hotel Freisinger Hof, you immediately get that feeling of stumbling onto something locals have been keeping to themselves. This four-star property sits quietly on Oberföhringerstraße in Bogenhausen — honestly, one of Munich’s most underrated neighborhoods. The lobby has this warm, traditional Bavarian charm without feeling like a tourist trap, and I noticed right away how many guests seemed to know the staff by name. Turns out there’s a reason for that — this place has way more repeat visitors than most hotels I’ve stayed at.
The Bogenhausen Advantage
Here’s what I love about this location — you’re actually living like a Münchener instead of just visiting. Bogenhausen feels residential and authentic, but you’re still only a quick tram ride from Marienplatz and the main sights. The neighborhood has these tree-lined streets and local cafés where you won’t hear much English, which I mean in the best possible way. Couples especially seem to get this area — they consistently rate the location highly, and I can see why. It’s romantic without being overly touristy, and there’s something nice about coming “home” to a quieter part of the city after a day of sightseeing.
Your Room and Comfort
The room I stayed in had that perfect balance of traditional German hospitality and modern comfort. Nothing flashy, but everything worked exactly as it should — which honestly matters more than fancy gadgets when you’re tired from walking around Munich all day. The beds are genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the windows actually open properly if you prefer fresh air over air conditioning. There’s also parking right at the hotel, which might not sound exciting but trust me, if you’re driving in Munich, you’ll appreciate not circling blocks looking for a spot.
The Food Situation
Okay, so the breakfast buffet here is actually worth getting up for — and I’m usually a “grab coffee and go” person. They do this proper German breakfast spread with local breads, meats, and cheeses that taste like they came from somewhere specific, not a generic supplier. The hotel restaurant gets consistently good feedback too, which makes sense because the kitchen clearly knows what they’re doing. I ended up eating there twice during my stay, partly because the food was good and partly because after a long day, sometimes you just want to stay put somewhere comfortable.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is how it feels like a neighborhood hotel that happens to welcome travelers, rather than a tourist hotel trying to feel local. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay work well, and there’s this relaxed efficiency to everything — no rushing, no pressure, just solid hospitality. You know what? Sometimes the best travel experiences come from places that don’t try too hard to impress you, and Hotel Freisinger Hof gets that balance just right. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself planning your next Munich trip before you’ve even checked out.
Munich’s apartments offer spacious accommodations with Alpine charm, perfect for families wanting to experience daily life in this traditionally German city.

Reviews of Hotel Freisinger Hof
Lisa from United States – 19 March 2025 (8/10)
Beautiful hotel with shading staff and gorgeous, delicious breakfast buffet. Beds were comfortable and room was big and comfortable, lived the Clarins hair products lotions and soaps, so nice. it was really a lovely hotel and loved the chocolates and treats and wine/beer selection in the mini bar.
What could be improved: i didn't realize that there wasn't much to see around the hotel, it is really in a quiet residential area. we loved being close to the park and went on two long walks, and that's what we intended, but i thought there would be more shops and etc to look around nearby. but, really loved the hotel we were so very relaxed there and yhe staff treats everyone with respect and great care.Daniel from United Kingdom – 14 March 2025 (9/10)

We had a garden room and even though it was a bit rainy, it was lovely to be able to open the doors and enjoy the view.
Service from the staff was excellent.
Dinner at the restaurant was the highlight of our time in Munich. Highly recommend eating there.
What could be improved: The room was large but reckon they could take out the pedestal table and one of the chairs.Mark from United States – 18 October 2024 (9/10)
