You know what struck me first about Hotel Freisinger Hof? It’s got that solid, unpretentious German hotel vibe that actually delivers on what it promises. I mean, when you see a 4-star rating, you’re sometimes wondering if they’re being generous with themselves, but this place genuinely earns it. The lobby has this warm, traditional feel – dark wood everywhere but not in a stuffy way, more like your well-off uncle’s house if he had really good taste. Check-in was refreshingly quick (the staff actually seemed to know what they were doing), and honestly, after a long travel day, that efficiency was exactly what I needed.

The rooms are what really won me over though. Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels where “4-star” means they threw some fancy pillows on a basic setup and called it a day. Here, you can tell someone actually thought about how people live in these spaces. The beds are properly firm – none of that sinking-into-quicksand nonsense – and the bathrooms have those little details that matter, like hooks in actually useful places and shower pressure that doesn’t make you question your life choices. What surprised me was how quiet everything stayed, even when the place seemed pretty full. You’d hear the occasional footstep in the hallway, but nothing that would wake you up or interrupt a phone call.

The whole operation just feels… competent, I guess? Like, the kind of place where if you needed an extra towel at 10 PM, someone would actually get it for you without making it seem like you’d asked them to relocate a mountain. That 8.7 rating makes total sense when you stay here – it’s not trying to be the flashiest place in town, but everything works the way it should. The breakfast (which, let’s be real, can make or break a hotel stay) was solid German fare without any pretentious nonsense, and the coffee was actually decent. I’d definitely book here again, especially since you’re getting genuine 4-star comfort without paying those inflated prices you see at places that are all style and no substance. Sometimes you just want a hotel that does the basics really well, and that’s exactly what this is.

  Beautiful hotel with shading staff and gorgeous, delicious breakfast buffet. Beds were comfortable and room was big and comfortable, lived the Clarins hair products lotions and soaps, so nice. it was really a lovely hotel and loved the chocolates and treats and wine/beer selection in the mini bar.
  
  What could be improved: i didn't realize that there wasn't much to see around the hotel, it is really in a quiet residential area. we loved being close to the park and went on two long walks, and that's what we intended, but i thought there would be more shops and etc to look around nearby. but, really loved the hotel we were so very relaxed there and yhe staff treats everyone with respect and great care.

  What could be improved: No smaller dishes on menu or snack menu. Restaurant looks very nice and exclusive but expensive, 3 Courses over €60.

  The restaurant was excellent! The staff accommodated us for dinner even before they opened and served us a drink until opening.

  We had a garden room and even though it was a bit rainy, it was lovely to be able to open the doors and enjoy the view.
  Service from the staff was excellent.
  Dinner at the restaurant was the highlight of our time in Munich. Highly recommend eating there.
  
  What could be improved: The room was large but reckon they could take out the pedestal table and one of the chairs.
