Overview
First Impressions
Hotel Blutenburg sits quietly on Verdistraße in Munich’s Pasing-Obermenzing district, and honestly, that’s part of its charm. This three-star property doesn’t try to be flashy — instead, it focuses on getting the basics absolutely right. The moment you pull up, you’ll notice the free private parking, which is actually a huge deal in Munich where finding a decent parking spot can cost you both time and money. The building itself has that understated German efficiency about it, clean lines and no unnecessary frills.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about Pasing-Obermenzing — you’re still technically in Munich, but it feels like you’ve escaped the tourist crowds without sacrificing accessibility. The area has this residential vibe that couples seem to absolutely adore (they rate the location 8.1, which is pretty impressive). You know what’s great? You can actually walk around here without dodging selfie sticks every five minutes. There are local cafés, proper German bakeries, and you’re well-connected to the city center when you want to dive into the main attractions.
The Rooms
The accommodations here are what I’d call thoughtfully simple. You won’t find over-the-top design elements, but everything works exactly as it should. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and sized appropriately — not cramped like some city hotels can be. What struck me most was the attention to practical details: good lighting for reading, decent storage space, and windows that actually open (you’d be surprised how many hotels skip that last one). The bathrooms are modern without being sterile, and the water pressure is solid.
Getting Around
Having that private parking changes everything about your Munich experience, especially if you’re planning day trips to places like Neuschwanstein or the Bavarian countryside. But even if you’re sticking to public transport, the connections from this area are reliable — typical German efficiency at work. You can reach Marienplatz and the main tourist areas without too much hassle, then retreat back to this quieter neighborhood when you’ve had enough of the city buzz. It’s sort of the best of both worlds, really.
Why Guests Love It
The 7.8 rating tells you this place consistently delivers on its promises without overselling itself. Couples particularly seem to get it — there’s something appealing about having a peaceful base while still being able to explore Munich properly. The free parking alone probably saves you 15-20 euros per day compared to city center hotels, and that adds up quickly. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but for travelers who value location, practicality, and honest value, Hotel Blutenburg hits the mark. Sometimes the best hotels are the ones that just let you focus on enjoying your trip instead of dealing with unnecessary complications.
Best hotels in Munich range from charming boutique properties near Marienplatz to elegant Bavarian-style hotels with stunning views of the Alps and historic city center.

Guest Reviews
The bed was nice the rooms were nice and in a good area
What could be improved: I asked for the WiFi code and was never provided it .
Comfortable, welcoming staff
Good for what it is but kind lf out of the way
What could be improved: Location
Cleaness, calm, for the room on the other part of the road is perfect - no noise, very good wi-fi
For the room with the face on road, during the weekend, is ok - less noise.
Free and underground parking
Large terrase - shared with all rooms on the same side
What could be improved: Noise from neighbours - early morning shower, doors closed with noise
Our hosts were extremely informative and friendly
What could be improved: There should be a night light in the bathroom to prevent stumbling around in the dark.
There is no elevator so getting luggage upstairs was a bit difficult but our host was very helpful in this regard
Very friendly staff, large and comfortable room (the apartment). The breakfast was excellent.
What could be improved: No elevator
Hotel staff very friendly, heating was good & needed on a rainy day,..
What could be improved: /
Spacious, comfortable room. Excellent breakfast. Helpful staff.
All good. very well organised. Staff excellent.
What could be improved: nothing to dislike. Only comment it that ‘direction’. Position of bed in room meant that slope adjacent to dormer window was also close to side of bed!
