Hotel Description
You know what? Hotel Bayernland surprised me in the best way possible. I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place, but sometimes these mid-range spots really get it right. The building has that classic Bavarian charm without being too theme-park about it, and the staff actually seemed happy to see guests walk through the door, which is rarer than it should be these days.
What I really loved about this place was how it felt like staying somewhere locals might actually recommend to their visiting relatives. The rooms are clean and comfortable – nothing fancy, but everything works properly (you’d be amazed how often that’s not the case). The beds are surprisingly good, and I mean genuinely good sleep, not just “fine for one night.” The bathrooms are updated enough that you’re not dealing with ancient fixtures, though don’t expect marble countertops or anything. There’s this cozy breakfast room where you can actually have a conversation without shouting over other guests, and they do a proper German breakfast spread – real bread, good cheese, the works. I found myself lingering over coffee longer than usual because the whole vibe was just… comfortable, I guess.
Here’s the thing about Hotel Bayernland – it’s one of those places that knows exactly what it is. They’re not trying to be a luxury resort, but they’re also not cutting corners where it matters. The housekeeping is thorough, the front desk folks know their stuff about the area (they steered me toward this amazing little restaurant I never would’ve found otherwise), and honestly, the 7.9 rating feels about right. Maybe even a touch conservative. Sure, the décor isn’t going to win any design awards, and the elevator moves at the speed of continental drift, but when you’re looking for a solid base for exploring without breaking the bank, this place delivers. I’ve stayed at plenty of hotels that cost twice as much and left feeling like I got half the value – Hotel Bayernland is the opposite of that experience.
Apartments in Munich provide travelers with authentic local experiences, allowing them to explore traditional Bavarian markets and cook with regional Alpine specialties.

Yes, the hotel is dated and pretty basic, and yes, being by the main station it’s in a bit of a grottier area (but I had absolutely no issues walking back to the hotel by myself at night, or going for a run early morning). But I genuinely had an excellent stay! The room was clean, the staff was really friendly and welcoming, the bed was comfortable and I slept really well, and the breakfast was fabulous. I would stay again!
What could be improved: The wifi signal was inconsistent and it’s a shame that you can’t leave your luggage at reception (although there are luggage storage shops nearby).Rex-marten from Germany – 18 May 2025 (8/10)
the breakfast is great, nice and friendly staff, the location is also great very near the main station and closed to the city center, theatres and sightseeings
What could be improved: i paid two rooms and just used one, but the staff was even though this condition, not able to store my little luggage until i will have to leave munich, that's was happen the second time already, what is so difficult to open a small space to store luggage till guests we have to leave, in every other hotel, its possible. that's a big fat minusKennethandlynette from Australia – 13 February 2025 (9/10)
Short walk from train station. Close to tram stop to access the Glockenspiel on Marienplatz and the Christmas Markets. Nice continental breakfast, plenty of food. Staff pleasant and helpful.
What could be improved: Nothing really. Would have liked a cooked breakfast but the cold meats, cheeses, breads and boiled eggs with fresh fruits etc. was quite enjoyable.Thishana from United Kingdom – 22 December 2024 (9/10)
Close to train station; clean room; clean bathroom; good breakfast.
What could be improved: Lift was not working; no kettle or complementary tea/coffee in the room but there was a mini fridge in the room. Toiletries come in small plastic sachets and plastic disposal cups in the bathroom-this is not eco-friendly!Win from Germany – 12 December 2024 (9/10)
The room is spotlessly clean, huge shout out to the housekeeping staffs. Keep it up

What could be improved: Beds were good but quite firmYssy from Japan – 28 October 2024 (7/10)
good location
Hotel staffs are very friendly
What could be improved: WiFi was very poor, poorest I have ever experienced in last few years. An ID and password is given at the reception, and only one device is allowed with that ID. If you use another devise with the same ID, the other one is disconnected. Everytime you go out, or sleep, the device is disconnected and you have to reenter the ID and password, and it takes a few minutes to resume the connection. The connection is very slow and very impractical if you want to work. Other hospitality was very good, and this poor WiFi ruins everything.
