That’s exactly what HOMELY STAY Studio 8 delivers – and honestly, the self-check-in thing is way less awkward than I thought it would be.

I’ll be straight with you: this isn’t going to blow your mind with luxury, but it’s one of those places that just works. The studio setup is actually pretty clever – they’ve managed to fit everything you need without that cramped feeling you get in a lot of European city accommodations. The bed’s comfortable (I’m picky about this), and there’s enough space to actually open your suitcase without doing some weird furniture-rearranging dance. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night, which can be hit or miss in Munich depending on where you end up. The self-check-in process was surprisingly smooth – they send you all the details beforehand, so you’re not standing there like a confused tourist fumbling with your phone.

Here’s the thing though – the location works better than you might expect for a 3-star place. Munich’s public transport is ridiculously efficient, so even if you’re not right in the Altstadt, you’re still connected to everything that matters. I mean, you can get to Marienplatz or the English Garden without breaking a sweat, and honestly, being slightly removed from the tourist chaos has its perks. The neighborhood feels more like where actual Munich residents live, which I found kind of refreshing after dealing with crowds all day. Plus, there are some solid local spots nearby – not the touristy beer halls everyone talks about, but the kind of places where you can grab a decent schnitzel without paying tourist prices. The 8.0 rating makes sense to me because it’s not trying to be something it’s not. It’s clean, functional, and reliable – sort of like that friend who always shows up on time and doesn’t create drama. Would I bring my parents here for their anniversary? Probably not. But for a solo trip or if you’re just looking for a comfortable base while you explore the city? Yeah, definitely.

  Room was clean and tidy, self-check-in instructions clear, the automatic locks worked with no issues. Good location near an U-Bahn station and a nice bakery to get breakfast from.

  We went for Oktoberfest and this was reasonably priced and a close enough walk to the festival. it’s close to a number of good restaurants.
