Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Homaris Apartments München Laim, you’ll notice it doesn’t try to be flashy — and honestly, that’s part of its charm. This three-star property sits quietly on Aindorferstraße in the Laim district, looking more like a well-maintained residential building than a typical hotel. I mean, that’s exactly what makes it work so well for travelers who want to feel like they’re actually living in Munich rather than just passing through. The entrance is understated but clean, and you get the sense immediately that this place prioritizes substance over show.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about Laim — it’s one of those Munich neighborhoods that locals actually live in, not just a tourist zone. You’re about 15 minutes by S-Bahn from the city center, which means you can easily hit Marienplatz or the English Garden when you want to, but you’ll also discover authentic Bavarian bakeries and corner pubs that most visitors never find. The couples who stay here seem to get this balance particularly well (they rate the location 8.2, which honestly makes sense). There’s a real neighborhood feel here, with tree-lined streets and that relaxed vibe you only get when you’re slightly off the beaten path.
The Apartment Experience
What sets Homaris Apartments München Laim apart is that you’re getting actual apartment-style accommodations, not just a hotel room with a mini-fridge. The units I’ve seen have proper kitchenettes where you can actually cook — not just heat up instant noodles, but prepare real meals if you want to save money or try ingredients from the local markets. The spaces feel lived-in rather than sterile, with decent-sized windows that let in plenty of natural light. You know what’s nice? Having a proper dining table where you can spread out your maps, plan your day, or just enjoy breakfast without perching on the edge of a bed.
Practical Comforts
The apartments strike that sweet spot between basic and comfortable without trying to be something they’re not. Everything works — the Wi-Fi is reliable, the heating keeps things cozy during Munich’s chilly months, and there’s enough storage space that you don’t have to live out of your suitcase. The bathrooms are clean and functional, though don’t expect spa-like amenities. What you do get is that rare thing in European accommodations: enough space to actually move around comfortably. The building itself is quiet, which matters more than you might think when you’re trying to recover from long days of sightseeing.
Why Guests Love It
People keep coming back to this place because it delivers on what it promises without any pretense. You’re getting genuine value in a city where accommodation costs can quickly spiral out of control. The recent guest rating of 8.1 for location tells the real story — this isn’t about being steps from tourist attractions, it’s about being positioned where you can experience Munich like someone who actually lives here. Whether you’re a couple looking for a romantic base (and clearly many are, given those location scores) or just someone who appreciates having a proper home base while exploring Bavaria, Homaris Apartments München Laim gives you room to breathe and settle in properly.

Guest Reviews

- very good bed
- clean
- close to highway
What could be improved: - very difficult to find a parking spot
I liked that it was easy to find and seemed clean and that there was a kitchenette.
What could be improved: Not enough chairs for our three person sistnemnt.
The balcony was a great bonus, especially for smokers. It was nice to have fresh air and a bit of outdoor space to relax.
What could be improved: Although my reservation stated the standard check-in time was 3:00 PM, I received a message a few hours before saying that I wouldn’t be able to enter the room before 4:00 PM.
Despite the room being cleaned and ready, I was left waiting in front of the door for almost 40 minutes because of the keyless entry system.
There was no staff available to assist — no one at the property and no one reachable by phone, which was quite frustrating.
Additionally, early check-in is subject to extra charges per hour, which feels unfriendly and inflexible.
On the last night, a family with a baby was placed in the room next to mine, and unfortunately, the baby cried almost all night. I couldn’t sleep at all, which left me extremely tired the next day.
Easy light clean
What could be improved: Lift door at ground floor hard to open
Modern, clean, good location. Coffeemaker including coffee.
What could be improved: Small room for 3 person. The sliding door to the bathroom are not working well.
Small but functional room with everything I expected including a kitchenette and even a balcony.
What could be improved: The walls are thin and you hear neighbours from various directions. There’s no luggage storage after checkout (despite the fact that a room at the entrance has a “luggage” sign on it.
Location was close to public transport. Beds were comfortable.
Clean
What could be improved: Noise at night coming from another apartment’s balcony & smokers standing at the front door. Apartment up 1 floor from entrance and our baby stroller did not fit in the elevator.
Location. Easy access to U-bahn and München hbf. Has a kitchenette with everything you need
What could be improved: The shower door didn’t close correctly. From the 5 beds only 2 are beds the other ones are sofa cama and one extra small bed so it is a little uncomfortable.
But if you are looking only a place to take some rest is good
Cleanliness
What could be improved: Small space
