Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about the Holiday Inn niu Brass near Olympiapark? It’s actually got personality – and I mean that in the best way possible. Most Holiday Inns feel like they were decorated by a committee, but this one has this whole industrial-chic thing going on that somehow works. The brass accents aren’t overdone (thank god), and there’s something about the lobby that feels more like a trendy Munich café than a chain hotel.

The location is honestly pretty smart if you’re not dead set on being right in the Altstadt with all the tourists. You’re literally a stone’s throw from Olympiapark, which means you can actually jog around that massive green space in the morning without fighting crowds – plus the Olympic Tower views are ridiculous on clear days. The U-Bahn connections are solid too; you can get to Marienplatz in maybe 15 minutes, and there’s something satisfying about staying in a neighborhood where you’ll hear more German than English on the street. I stayed here during Oktoberfest season (yeah, I know, rookie mistake timing-wise) and while the city center was absolute chaos, this area stayed relatively sane. You can actually walk to some decent local spots for dinner – there’s this Turkish place about five minutes away that locals seem to love, and a bakery that does proper German bread if you’re into that morning routine.

What really sold me was the practical stuff that travel sites never mention. Check-in was genuinely fast, the Wi-Fi actually works throughout the building (tested it in the elevator like a weirdo), and the rooms are surprisingly quiet considering you’re in a major city. The beds are firm – not everyone’s cup of tea, but I slept well. The shower pressure is solid, and honestly, the whole room just feels… clean? Like, properly clean, not just “we sprayed some Febreze and called it good” clean. The 8.3 rating makes sense when you add it all up. It’s not trying to be the Four Seasons, but for what it is – a well-run, modern hotel in a great spot that won’t destroy your budget – it delivers. Plus, and this might sound weird, but the staff actually seemed to enjoy working there, which always makes a difference in how your stay feels.
