Takes about eight minutes on foot, maybe ten if you’re hauling luggage.

The rooms are proper four-star standard – spacious enough that you’re not bumping into your suitcase every time you turn around, and the beds are honestly excellent. I’m usually a light sleeper, but the soundproofing here is solid. You might catch some street noise if you’re facing the main road, but it’s not the kind that keeps you up. The shower pressure is what you’d hope for after walking around Munich all day, and there’s actually enough counter space in the bathroom to spread out your stuff. Little things, but they add up. Location-wise, you’re in this sweet spot where you feel like you’re experiencing real Munich life but can still get to the tourist spots easily. The U3 line gets you to the city center in maybe fifteen minutes, and honestly, I found myself enjoying the neighborhood walks. There’s a great little bakery about two blocks away that locals actually use, and the evening crowd at the nearby beer gardens is more mixed with actual Munich residents rather than just tour groups. Parking is available if you’re driving, which isn’t always a given in Munich, and the rates are reasonable for the city.

I mean, it’s still a Holiday Inn – you’re not getting boutique charm or historic character. But sometimes you just want a really solid, comfortable base where everything works properly and you can count on consistency. For the price point and that 8.3 rating, it delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. If you’re looking for somewhere reliable in Munich that gives you good value and puts you in touch with how the city actually lives beyond the tourist center, this is a smart choice.
