Hotel Description
Honestly, when I first pulled up to the Holiday Inn Munich on Leuchtenbergring, I wasn’t expecting much – you know how it is with chain hotels, they can feel pretty cookie-cutter. But this place actually surprised me in a good way. The building itself has this clean, modern look that doesn’t scream “budget business hotel,” and the lobby has these warm wood accents that make it feel less corporate than you’d expect from IHG. What really struck me was how quiet it was despite being on a main street – I mean, Leuchtenbergring can get busy with trams and traffic, but once you’re inside, it’s like they’ve figured out the soundproofing thing.
The location is honestly pretty smart if you know Munich at all. You’re not right in the thick of Marienplatz madness, but the U-Bahn connection at Max-Weber-Platz is literally a few minutes’ walk, and from there you can get anywhere in the city without dealing with the tourist crowds right outside your door. I actually preferred this to staying in Altstadt – you get that neighborhood feel around Haidhausen (there’s this great little bakery just down the street that locals line up at every morning), but you’re still only like 15 minutes from the main sights. The area comes alive in the evenings too, with some solid restaurants and bars that aren’t trying to fleece tourists.
What impressed me most was how they’ve managed to make a 4-star chain hotel feel… well, not generic. The rooms are definitely modern Holiday Inn style, but they’ve got these little touches – good lighting for actually reading, power outlets where you need them, and the beds are legitimately comfortable. I’m pretty picky about hotel beds, and I slept better here than at places that cost twice as much. The breakfast was solid too, though it gets pretty crowded around 8 AM when the business travelers are rushing out. My only real complaint is that the elevators can be painfully slow during peak times, but honestly, that’s pretty minor. With an 8.1 rating, you can tell other people have had similar experiences – it’s one of those places that just works without any drama or unpleasant surprises. If you’re looking for something reliable in Munich that won’t break the bank but still feels like you’re treating yourself decently, this is actually a really good call.
Apartments in Munich provide travelers with authentic local experiences, allowing them to explore traditional Bavarian markets and cook with regional Alpine specialties.

It was in a great location for a meeting I had. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was quiet and the temperature was easy to adjust to be comfortable. Car parking was generous and reasonable for the location. Breakfast was good. Love it when I find tea and coffee making facilities in a German hotel.
What could be improved: Slight smell of smoke in our room and of drains in the bathroom.Ntm from Japan – 6 May 2025 (8/10)
Good location, very close to train station and super market. Also, staff service is awesome.
What could be improved: Room circuit breaker tripped twice during five nights stay. It just happened when came to room (no electrical item used).Mariam from Oman – 15 April 2025 (9/10)
Nothing

Perfect location next to the railway station S-Bahn and close to the centre. Rooms comfy enough and tidy. Bed/Mattress very comfy. Breakfast various selections and good quality. Good parking garage with possibility to park the car until 18hrs of the departure day.

Their room was modern, clean, and big enough. They offered a very nice breakfast with a good selection. The location was close to the Christmas markets which was one of the main reasons for our visit. We appreciated how clean the facility was and the beds were comfortable. They accommodated our request to have two rooms close together. There is a tram station very close to the hotel
What could be improved: The location was fine, but there was not much in the area for entertainment.Vishwas from India – 13 February 2025 (8/10)

Great breakfast, lots of stuff to choose from very fresh very tasty
What could be improved: Fitness Centre is very weak. No cycling apparatus.Anderson from United Kingdom – 18 January 2025 (8/10)
Location was excellent for transport links. Few nice places close by to get breakfast, burger etc. Staff all spoke English and were super helpful.
What could be improved: The breakfast was just ok and expensive for what you got. Dinner facilities were very limited – really just a sandwich sitting at the bar. Sandwich was lovely, but I had gone expecting a full restaurant and we would have eaten before we'd gone back to the hotel if I'd realised.Nadia from Germany – 12 January 2025 (9/10)
it’s was closer to my exam centrer just 4 minutes walking

the staff was friendly and kind

What could be improved: nothing! everything was perfect
