But here’s what I didn’t expect: the neighborhood has this laid-back, residential vibe that feels refreshingly normal after dealing with the tourist chaos in the Altstadt. There’s a decent bakery two blocks down where you can grab proper German bread for breakfast if the hotel’s offering doesn’t hit the spot, and the U-Bahn connection is solid – takes about 25 minutes to get to Marienplatz, which isn’t bad at all. The rooms are clean and functional, nothing fancy but they’ve got that German efficiency thing down pat. I mean, the shower actually has good water pressure, which is more than I can say for some fancier places I’ve stayed. The “aussicht” they’re promising? Well, it’s not the Alps, but you do get nice views of the quieter side of Munich, and honestly, after a long day of meetings or sightseeing, looking out at normal apartment buildings and tree-lined streets feels pretty peaceful.

What really won me over was the staff – they actually seem to care about what they’re doing, and the front desk guy (I think his name was Stefan?) knew the neighborhood inside and out. He pointed me toward this great little Bavarian restaurant that wasn’t in any guidebook, and when I mentioned I needed to catch an early flight, he sorted out the taxi situation without me even asking. The 7.5 rating makes sense – it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury, but everything works the way it should. Parking was easy, the Wi-Fi didn’t cut out every five minutes, and I actually slept well because this part of town gets genuinely quiet at night. If you’re looking for Instagram-worthy opulence, keep scrolling. But if you want a solid base for exploring Munich without paying tourist prices, and especially if you’ve got business at the trade fair, this place delivers exactly what it promises – nothing more, nothing less.
