So I’ve stayed at harry’s home München a few times now, and honestly, it’s become my go-to whenever I’m in Munich for more than a couple nights. The name might sound a bit quirky – I mean, who’s Harry anyway? – but there’s something really appealing about how they’ve set this place up as a hybrid between a proper hotel and serviced apartments.

What I actually love about this spot is how it doesn’t try too hard to be fancy, even though it’s got that solid 4-star feel throughout. The apartment-style rooms are what sold me initially because, you know what, sometimes you just want to grab groceries from the nearby Edeka and make your own coffee without paying hotel café prices every morning. The kitchenettes are actually functional too – not those sad little setups with a broken mini-fridge that some places throw in just to say they have them. I’ve made proper meals here, which is honestly a game-changer when you’re staying somewhere for a week or dealing with Munich’s restaurant prices (which, let’s be real, can add up fast).

The whole vibe feels more like staying at a friend’s really well-organized apartment than a sterile hotel room. Staff here seem to get that balance right – they’re helpful when you need them but not hovering around making everything feel overly formal. Check-in was smooth both times I’ve been, though I’d definitely recommend avoiding Sunday afternoons if you can help it since that seems to be when half of Munich is either checking in or out of places. The 8.2 rating makes total sense to me because it delivers exactly what it promises without any nasty surprises, but it’s not trying to be the Vier Jahreszeiten either. I mean, the bathrooms are modern and clean, the Wi-Fi actually works properly (crucial for work trips), and the beds are comfortable enough that I wasn’t thinking about my back every morning. There’s also this nice attention to detail – like having actual hangers instead of those weird security ones that don’t work, and enough outlets placed where you’d actually want to charge your phone. It’s those little things that make you realize someone who travels regularly probably had input on the room design.

Location-wise, you’re well-positioned without being right in the tourist chaos – I could walk to decent restaurants and grab the U-Bahn easily enough, but I wasn’t dealing with hen parties stumbling past my window at 2am either. Parking was straightforward the times I had a rental car, which in Munich is honestly worth mentioning since some places make it unnecessarily complicated. If you’re the type who likes having options – maybe you want room service one night but prefer cooking for yourself the next – this place gets it. It’s not going to be the most Instagram-worthy spot you’ll ever stay, but it’ll probably end up being one of the most practical, especially if you’re in Munich for business or planning to actually explore the city instead of just hiding in your hotel.

  Super-friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location. Comfortable bed and access to the service room (ironing, oven, microwave, etc.)

  The location of the hotel is perfect. Close to public transports and also to a shopping mall and a few restaurants.

  The hotel is very basic, but more than comfortable. I was initially disappointed that there was no fridge in the room, but the staff arranged one for my room to store my medication.
  
  All staff were super friendly and accommodating.
  
  The location was super accessible to city center and airport with the S-bahn, U-bahn, tram and bus lines just steps from the door.
  Restaurant and shopping also just steps from the door.
  
  What could be improved: Would have been nice to have a little more toiletries (ie: hand soap) in the bathroom, but it wasn't a deal breaker. I just stopped at the store and bought my own.
