H2 Hotel München Messe Overview
First Impressions
Walking into H2 Hotel München Messe, you immediately notice the clean, modern design that feels refreshingly unpretentious. This three-star property in the Trudering-Riem district doesn’t try to be something it’s not — and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it work so well. The lobby has this understated efficiency that Germans do so perfectly, with friendly staff who actually seem to enjoy helping guests figure out their Munich plans.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s what I love about staying in Munich near the Messe — you’re close enough to the action but far enough away to avoid the tourist chaos. The hotel sits right on Olof-Palme-Straße, which might sound intimidating if you don’t speak German, but it’s actually super easy to navigate from here. You’ve got excellent public transport connections, and I mean really excellent — the U-Bahn gets you to Marienplatz in about 20 minutes. Plus, there’s parking available right at the hotel, which anyone who’s tried to park in central Munich will tell you is worth its weight in gold.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d expect from a well-run German hotel — spotlessly clean, thoughtfully designed, and equipped with everything you actually need (not just stuff that looks good in photos). The beds are properly comfortable, and you know what really impressed me? The blackout curtains actually work. I slept better here than I have at some much fancier places. The bathrooms are compact but functional, with good water pressure and those little touches that show someone’s paying attention to guest comfort.
Breakfast & Dining
The breakfast spread here is honestly impressive for a three-star property. They’ve got continental options, but also vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free choices that don’t feel like afterthoughts. The buffet setup is efficient without feeling rushed, and the coffee — well, let’s just say it’s strong enough to fuel your Munich adventures. I watched them accommodate dietary restrictions with genuine care, not just going through the motions. There’s no full restaurant on-site, but with Munich’s incredible food scene just a short trip away, you really don’t need one.
Why Guests Love It
What strikes me most about H2 Hotel München Messe is how many repeat guests they have — and after staying here, I totally get why. It’s that rare combination of reliability, value, and genuine hospitality that keeps people coming back. Couples especially seem to love this spot (they rate the location 8.5 out of 10), probably because it offers that perfect balance of being well-connected but not overwhelmed by crowds. The staff clearly takes pride in what they do, and it shows in those small details that make a stay memorable rather than just functional. For the price point, you’re getting solid comfort, great location access, and the kind of consistent quality that lets you focus on enjoying Munich instead of worrying about your accommodation.

Reviews of H2 Hotel München Messe
Andrea from Germany – 27 May 2025 (8/10)
Location across the Messesee. Short walk to the Riehm Arkaden and bus stop outside the front and underground 5 min. Walk
What could be improved: With open window there was traffic noose and people talking (smoking)sitting outside but didn’t bother me sleeping.
The breakfast Brötchen (mostly white) were a little sad/drySare from Austria – 23 April 2025 (9/10)
-A good and hearty breakfast
-Free street parking available right in front of the hotel
-The rooms were very clean and tidy
-We arrived earlier than the check-in time, but the rooms were ready and we didn’t face any issues
What could be improved: There was a connecting door between the two rooms, which was locked and needed to be opened by the staff. We had to call several times before they finally came and unlocked it.Ondrej from Luxembourg – 15 March 2025 (9/10)

When I arrived I was upgraded to the sister hotel H4, which was a nice bonus so really commenting on this hotel rather than H2
Abdullah from Turkey – 6 March 2025 (9/10)
H2 hotel and H4 hotel are internally connected to each other, there is no such situation as lack of space in the hotel. I recommend booking with breakfast included, the breakfast buffet is really good and high quality. The hotel is 300 meters walking distance from the nearest metro station and 300 meters from the hotel there is a shopping center called "riem arcaden", you can find everything you want here, especially the food court is very big. The hotel staff is helpful, kind and friendly and you will not regret staying in this hotel.
Shannon from South Africa – 20 February 2025 (8/10)
Easy access to the ICM and Messe Munchen across the road. Breakfast was very good, with a lot of seating. The staff were friendly and helpful and the wifi was good for working. There's a huge mall down the road where you can find anything you need as well as a variety of food and restaurants. The metro is also close by and is easy enough to navigate.
What could be improved: The view isn't the prettiest, but that's to be expected in a business district.Hussen from Lebanon – 11 February 2025 (7/10)
Location near the exhibition
What could be improved: It is very basic and staff at counter can be slowOskar from Poland – 8 January 2025 (9/10)
