Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of places around Munich, and GREFIS Hotel in Gräfelfing honestly surprised me. When I first pulled up to Lohenstraße 5, I’ll admit I was thinking “okay, this is pretty suburban” – you’re about 20 minutes southwest of the city center, tucked into what feels more like a residential neighborhood than a tourist zone. But you know what? That turned out to be exactly why I loved it.

The thing about Gräfelfing is that it’s where actual Müncheners live, not just visit. There’s this authentic German small-town vibe happening – I mean, you can walk to proper local bakeries in the morning (the Bäckerei Wimmer down the street does incredible pretzels, just saying), and the S-Bahn station is close enough that getting into the city is actually pretty painless. The hotel itself has that clean, modern German efficiency thing down pat – my room was spotless, the shower had serious water pressure, and honestly, the beds are some of the most comfortable I’ve encountered in this price range. The staff really knows their stuff too; when I mentioned wanting to hit some beer gardens that weren’t crawling with tour groups, they pointed me toward Augustiner-Bräu Kloster Mühldorf, which was… well, let’s just say it was perfect.

What really sealed it for me was the quiet – and I’m someone who’s usually stuck in hotels right in the Marienplatz chaos. Here, you actually sleep through the night without sirens or drunk tourists stumbling around at 3 AM. The breakfast spread is solid (proper German breads, decent coffee, fresh fruit that doesn’t look like it’s been sitting around for days), and there’s something refreshing about starting your day somewhere that feels less like a tourist machine. Plus, parking is included, which – if you’ve ever tried to park in central Munich – you’ll know is basically worth its weight in gold. The 8.7 rating makes total sense to me because this place just… works. It’s not trying to be flashy or Instagram-perfect, but everything you actually need is handled really well. If you’re the type who wants to experience Munich like you live there instead of just checking boxes on a sightseeing list, this spot in Gräfelfing might be exactly what you’re looking for.

  What we liked the most was the comfort in the room, we felt like home, and the heated pool was brilliant especially since we used it while it was raining and after 🤩 And the included breakfast was appetizing and you had many options to choose from❤️ We will definitely be back! 🎉

  Facilities are excellent and very well thought. The staff are friendly and smiley and always helpful.
  
  What could be improved: Nothing to complain, just for the sake of improvement I’d improve the AC in the gym as it gets hot fast, and also maybe adjust the gym with more free weights like a barbell to make it more athletes friendly.

  The breakfast is excellent with top-notch coffee. The lunch and dinner offerings are also quite good. The fitness room is better than most hotels, although a bit crowded early in the day. The location is ideal for me since it's close to our office, but also near a nice linear park.
  
  What could be improved: I have a thing against heavy duvets, but that's Europe. I'm either too hot with it or too cold without it.

  Staff is polite, fast and efficient. Interior design is cohirent, logical, there are no inconsitencies. Beds are comfortable. Breakfast is quite good.

  The hotel is located close to our offices, so it is very convenient. Very comfortable, good sized rooms, excellent breakfast. The staff is very helpful and always smiling. The food at the Club Restaurant is also good. It is a pleasure staying here.
