The location is actually brilliant if you know Munich at all. You’re right in Bogenhausen, which honestly feels more like living in the city than just visiting it. Prinzregentenplatz is just around the corner – I’d walk there most evenings because there’s something really peaceful about that whole area. The English Garden is maybe a fifteen-minute stroll (perfect for morning jogs, though I’m not much of a jogger myself), and you can catch the U4 at Prinzregentenplatz station without any hassle. What I really loved was how quiet it gets at night – none of that tourist area chaos you get near Marienplatz, but you’re still connected to everything. The apartment itself feels like someone actually lives there, if that makes sense. The kitchen had everything I needed to make proper coffee in the morning, and the shower had decent water pressure (trust me, this matters more than you think when you’re dealing with jetlag). I spent most evenings just hanging out by the windows, watching the neighborhood come alive – there’s this great little bakery across the way that starts up around 6 AM, and honestly, waking up to the smell of fresh bread isn’t the worst thing in the world.

Here’s the thing about GM-Stays – they’ve figured out that perfect rating for a reason. It’s not trying to be some fancy hotel experience with marble lobbies and concierge services. Instead, it’s just really, really good at being exactly what it is: a comfortable, well-thought-out place to stay while you explore Munich. The Wi-Fi actually works (shocking, I know), the bed is comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with the mattress all night, and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase. Check-in was smooth – no weird key pickup drama or confusing instructions. If you’re the type of traveler who wants to feel like a temporary local rather than a tourist, this place gets it right. Plus, you’re close enough to the city center that you can easily get to all the must-see spots, but far enough away that you can actually relax when you get back. Sometimes the best recommendation is just that a place works exactly how it should – no surprises, no disappointments, just solid comfort in a genuinely nice part of Munich.
