You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from Eddy’s Rest & Relax when I first pulled up to this Neuhausen spot, but honestly, it’s one of those places that just gets the basics really, really right. The name pretty much tells you everything – this isn’t trying to be some flashy boutique hotel, and that’s actually what makes it work so well. It’s tucked into a quieter part of Neuhausen, which I mean, if you know the area, you’ll appreciate how it manages to feel residential without being completely cut off from everything. The building itself has that solid, unpretentious Swiss vibe – clean lines, nothing fancy, but you can tell someone cares about keeping it up.

What really struck me was how the staff seemed to actually remember guests’ names after like, day two. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward (none of that “let me tell you about our seventeen amenities” speech), and they had this little area near the front desk with local hiking maps that were actually current – not those faded tourist office ones from 2019. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 3-star place, but here’s the thing: the beds are genuinely comfortable, not just hotel-marketing comfortable. I’m talking about that sweet spot where the mattress has some give but doesn’t leave you feeling like you’re sinking into quicksand. The bathrooms are compact but well-designed – whoever planned the layout actually thought about where you’d want to hang your towel and put your toiletries.

The neighborhood itself is pretty perfect if you’re the type who likes to wander around and stumble onto good stuff. There’s this little bakery about two blocks down that does incredible gipfeli in the mornings, and you’ll find yourself walking past locals heading to work rather than dodging tour groups. Parking was surprisingly painless – they’ve got a small lot behind the building, and street parking isn’t the nightmare it can be in other parts of Zurich. I stayed there during what turned out to be a pretty busy weekend, and while you could hear some activity in the hallways, it never felt chaotic or disruptive. The walls are thick enough that you’re not getting a play-by-play of your neighbor’s phone calls, which honestly, after some of the paper-thin places I’ve stayed, felt like luxury. That 8.3 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it’s going to deliver exactly what it promises, and sometimes that’s worth more than all the fancy touches in the world.

  The apartment was just as pictured, very clean and cozy. It was always warm and there was good pressure hot water all day long. Lots of light entering the windows although we kept the shades most of the day closed due to the fact that the apartment is on the ground floor. The living room was very nice and the kitchen had all the necessary equipment for simple tasks. Bathrooms were clean and the showers were working. Nothing too fancy. Host was friendly, provided helpful information on getting around the city, food and storage spaces, also answered our questions in a timely manner.
  
  What could be improved: The apartment is on the ground floor so you have to keep some extra safety measures, even if it is a safe area overall. Some of the pillows were uncomfortable, something to just keep in mind if you find it difficult to sleep in a pillow other than yours

  Quiet neighborhood. Felt secure and safe. Convenient access to public transportation. Good variety of stores and restaurants in vicinity.
  
  What could be improved: Not as clean and maintained as would normally expected. Sheets didn’t seem changed. Minimal supplies (soap, coffee, sugar, etc) for the length of stay and amount of people. Very spartan and basic. See through window coverings at night.

  What could be improved: Apartment is slightly dirty and not very comfortable for relaxing after a long day of travel. Very much AirBNB style experience. The lock on the door was slightly broken (?) and the coffee pods given didn't fit the machine provided.

  Apartamento muy bonito, tiene todo lo necesario, te dejan café para consumir, los productos de aseo son de Rituals, la ubicación es muy buena y te proporcionan mucha información con todos los detalles .
