Hotel Description
You know what? das HOTEL in München is one of those places that surprises you – and I mean that in the best way possible. When I first walked in, honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star spot, but there’s something refreshingly unpretentious about the whole place that just works. The lobby has this clean, minimalist vibe that feels very Munich without trying too hard, if that makes sense. It’s not trying to be the Vier Jahreszeiten or anything fancy like that – it just does what it does really well.
The rooms are actually pretty solid for what you’re paying. I mean, you’re not getting marble bathrooms or anything, but everything feels thoughtfully designed rather than just thrown together. The beds are surprisingly comfortable (I’m picky about this stuff), and the windows are thick enough that you won’t hear every tram rattling by at 6 AM – which, trust me, matters more than you think when you’re trying to sleep off that extra Augustiner from the night before. What I really appreciated was how clean everything felt, not just surface-level clean but actually well-maintained clean. You can tell they care about the details, even the small ones like having decent hangers in the closet instead of those flimsy wire things most hotels give you.
Here’s the thing about staying here – you’re getting honest value without any of the nonsense. The staff actually seems to know Munich beyond just the tourist traps, which is refreshing when you want recommendations that aren’t straight out of a guidebook. Check-in was smooth, no unnecessary upselling or weird fees, just straightforward service from people who seemed to actually care about doing their job well. The whole experience feels very… I don’t know, very German in the best way? Efficient but warm, practical but thoughtful. Sure, it’s not going to blow your mind or become the highlight of your trip, but sometimes you just want a place that handles the basics really well so you can focus on exploring the city. And honestly, that’s exactly what das HOTEL delivers – it gets out of your way and lets Munich be the star, which is probably how it should be anyway.

The position.
What could be improved: Internet was too slow, it was impossible to even just go online and send emails.Carlotta from Italy – 2 January 2025 (7/10)
Very nice room with bright color, comfy beds and large bathrooms.
What could be improved: More sweets options in the breakfast. For people that don’t like to eat salty at the mornings the only option is bread and Nutella/jam. You should offer some croissant, or cake…it would be great some applestrudelKeith from United States – 24 December 2024 (8/10)

15 minutes' walk to Marienplaz. On street lot of small restaurants available. Historical ( Interesting over 200 Years old House , who is located this hotel ). Reasonable price. U-Bahn — 7 minuts of walk.
What could be improved: Breakfast time , if many people, little bit needed patience.Tamas from Hungary – 8 March 2024 (7/10)
It was clean and it was in a good location near TUM with many restaurants on the street.
What could be improved: It would have been nice to have a kettle and a couple of tea bags in the room.Miha from Slovenia – 27 October 2023 (8/10)
very spacious room, very clean and good location
What could be improved: very basic equipment, but nothing to complain about too muchBrad from United Kingdom – 21 September 2023 (7/10)
Good location and spacious, nice to have a balcony.
What could be improved: We did stay during Oktoberfest however I still think this was expensive at £222 a night. Would expect access to more facilities in the hotel for this price.
Such as a bar or even a mini bar in the room. A fan in the room would also be good for when the temperature is +20 degC. A large style breakfast.María from Colombia – 10 May 2023 (8/10)
the property is very central and easy to walk everywhere
What could be improved: bathrooms are kind of smallHenk from Netherlands – 3 November 2022 (6/10)
'das hotel' sounds like 'das boat' but it should read 'das chaos'. Within that chaos the reception area did its utmost and found many solutions.
What could be improved: The mere fact that my mail was not answered so a parking spot was not available. After some strong words and threatening with a review a solution was found. An emotional start of a three days stay that was eventually pretty pleasant. Munich is a great city.
