You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from CORTIINA Hotel when I first walked up to it – honestly, the name made me think it might be trying too hard to be trendy. But man, was I wrong. The moment you step inside, there’s this immediate sense that someone actually thought about every single detail. Not in that sterile, corporate way, but more like… well, like someone who travels a lot designed a place they’d actually want to stay.

The staff here gets it – and I mean really gets it. Check-in was smooth without feeling rushed, and the front desk person (I think her name was Maria?) gave me the kind of local tips you usually only get from friends who live in a city. She mentioned which elevator was faster (the one on the left, if you’re wondering) and warned me that the ice machine on the third floor gets a bit loud around 6 AM when the hotel starts prepping breakfast. Those tiny details that make you realize people here pay attention. The rooms themselves hit that sweet spot between modern and comfortable – you’ve got all the charging ports you need (thank god), blackout curtains that actually block light, and a shower with proper water pressure. I’ve stayed at plenty of four-star places where the WiFi cuts out every twenty minutes or the air conditioning sounds like a jet engine, but CORTIINA actually delivers on the basics while adding thoughtful touches. The bathroom amenities smell amazing – sort of citrusy but not overwhelming – and they stock the good toilet paper, which honestly matters more than people admit.

What really sold me on this place, though, was how it felt during different times of day. Mornings are surprisingly peaceful; you can hear a bit of street activity but it’s more like a gentle city hum than jarring noise. The lobby area transforms throughout the day too – business travelers with laptops in the morning, then families checking in during the afternoon, and by evening it becomes this relaxed spot where people actually hang out instead of just passing through. I spent a good hour there one night just people-watching and answering emails, and it never felt awkward or forced. The 8.9 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there a few days – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but everything works exactly like it should, and the little extras (like remembering your coffee preference at breakfast) add up to something genuinely pleasant. I’d definitely book here again, which is saying something because I’m usually the type to try somewhere new every trip.

  It’s hard to imagine a hotel and a better location in the centre of historic Munich. It is surrounded by numerous restaurants ranging from local Baver cuisine to several other cultures.

  The Service was excellent, the breakfast was a nice surprise it was delicious and worthy of a 5 star rating, breakfast personell was very friendly, location is great.

  Staff welcoming and helpful and hotel is located right in centre of old town of Munich so perfect for getting to most of sights. The room we had was spacious and comfortable and service was great.

  We got upgraded to a very nice room. Very spacious and perfect location. There was an error on my invoice that I only realized when I got home. I contacted the hotel and they credited me for the overcharge immediately. Great service. This will be our go-to hotel if we need to stay in the center of Munich.
  
  What could be improved: It would have been nice if they had a sauna, but it is really not the end of the world.
