Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Citadines Arnulfpark Munich, you immediately get that “this is going to work out well” feeling. It’s one of those four-star places that doesn’t try too hard to impress you with flashy lobbies, but instead focuses on getting the basics absolutely right. The building sits on Arnulfstraße in Maxvorstadt, and honestly, the location alone makes this place worth considering — you’re basically in the sweet spot between Munich’s main train station and the city center.
The Neighborhood Advantage
Here’s what I love about staying in Munich‘s Maxvorstadt district — you’re close enough to everything that matters, but you’re not dealing with the tourist chaos of Marienplatz every time you step outside. The Hauptbahnhof is literally a few minutes’ walk away, which means you can dump your bags and be exploring within an hour of arriving. Plus, couples seem to really get this location (they rate it 8.8, which is pretty impressive), and I can see why — there’s something romantic about being able to stroll through quieter streets but still reach the Viktualienmarkt or English Garden without much effort.
The Apartment Setup
What sets Citadines apart is that you’re not getting a standard hotel room — you’re getting an apartment-style setup with a proper kitchenette. I mean, having your own little kitchen changes everything, especially if you’re staying more than a couple nights. You can grab some fresh bread and cheese from the local markets and actually feel like you’re living in Munich rather than just visiting. The apartments are clean and functional — not fancy, but they’ve got everything you need without any unnecessary frills.
Breakfast and Practical Perks
The breakfast situation here is solid — they do both continental and buffet options, so whether you’re the “just coffee and a pastry” type or someone who needs a proper spread to start the day, you’re covered. What really makes a difference though is the on-site parking. If you’re driving in Munich (which, let’s be honest, isn’t always the smartest move), having guaranteed parking at your hotel is huge. Most places in the city center either don’t have it or charge you an arm and a leg for it.
Why Guests Love It
The 8.3 rating tells the real story here — this is about a place that consistently delivers what travelers actually need. You get space to spread out, a location that makes sense, and staff who seem to understand that sometimes you just want things to work smoothly. It’s particularly great if you’re planning to use Munich as a base for exploring Bavaria — you can cook some meals at home, save money, and still be perfectly positioned for day trips or city exploration. The whole setup just feels… practical in the best possible way.
To book hotel in Munich during the famous Oktoberfest season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts beer enthusiasts and cultural travelers from around the world.

Guest Reviews
Fantastic location — five tram stops (maybe 10 minutes‘ ride) from the main train station, drops you off at the hotel door. Clean, quiet; bright rooms, great facilities; comfortable beds and great shower pressure. Staff are very helpful and friendly. The 24/7 coffee in the lobby, free for guests, was a surprisingly very well-appreciated treat! Will definitely be back!!
What could be improved: Nothing!
To be honest, that was one of the best stays I recently have. hotel staff was really nice and experiences, check in/out was a moment with no issues - everything was well prepared and I do not have to bother with filling too much additional papers.
Room - very nice, spacey, comfortable. Airco was working as expected, big and clean bathroom.
And the most comfortable bed I sleep last year I can say.
Also, location for me was great as I had just one step to the office.
Free coffee available
Great experience!
What could be improved: I really do not see any bad things here. Maybe the beer in the reception fridge could be colder (If I need to say something :)
The room was big enough and the beds very comfy. Also the ceilings very efficient to keep room very quite from traffic.
What could be improved: Non slippery sticker on shower a bit outdated and looked like not cleaned instead of a sticker layer.
Clean, great location
What could be improved: It seems air conditioning not strong enough. It was warm week and sometimes when sun was in the room it was hot. Can be big problem in summer. It’s ok that cleaning is once per 3 days, but garbage collection for extra fee confusing. Expensive breakfasts.
I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel in Munich. It offers excellent value for money, especially considering its central location. While it takes about 35 minutes to walk to the city center, there's a tram stop right outside the hotel. Trams run frequently and take you to the center in just 10–15 minutes, which makes getting around incredibly convenient.
The room was modern, well-furnished, and equipped with all the necessary comforts for a comfortable stay. The only downside was that daily cleaning is not included unless you stay for six nights or more. Otherwise, you have to pay an extra fee for daily housekeeping.
Overall, it's a great choice for anyone looking to stay in a central part of Munich without breaking the bank.
We had a fabulous time. Its location meant we were 50m away from the nearest tram station... giving us quick access to the city centre. The shower and rooms were spacious.
What could be improved: The hotel warned us at commencement of our stay, that it only cleans the rooms upon the end of ones visit.
We appreciate that it might be a way for management to try keep costs down, but having to bring used bathroom towels down for replacement to reception felt annoying and belittling. Similar when we ran out of toilet rolls and had to ask for more toilet paper from reception before going back up the lift with toilet rolls. Not exactly what would expect from an upmarket establishment.
Breakfast was abundant but unfortunately forgettable. Appreciate the hotel trying to cater for many customers but found the quality of the options available to be poor. The juices (either sparkling or still) tasted diluted and the settings on the dispenser made one receive very small volumes in already small glasses.
The staff were super nice, facilities good and location great!
The location is very good just next to the tram station that takes you to the downtown.
What could be improved: There is no coffee machine in the room, but coffee was served for free in the restaurant.
The room was excellent - large space, well equipped, all functioning perfectly, very close to the tram station (1 min - just in front of it). Since we stayed in 1 bedroom apartment, we had washing machine in the room which was excellent. Parking was easy and we could book it in advance. Everything was perfectly organized.
What could be improved: Nothing
It’s located right in front of a tram spot. The rooms are comfortable and they serve really good hot chocolate and coffee round the clock. The fitness center is also great for a quick workout.
What could be improved: Nothing really
