Central Hotel-Apart München Overview
First Impressions
The Central Hotel-Apart München sits quietly on Josephsburgstr in the Berg am Laim district, and honestly, it’s one of those places that surprises you. From the outside, it looks pretty unassuming — just a clean, modern building that doesn’t scream for attention. But once you step inside, you realize this three-star property has figured out something important: how to make guests feel genuinely comfortable without all the fuss.
Location and Getting Around
Berg am Laim isn’t exactly the tourist center of Munich, but that’s actually what makes it work so well. You’re about 15 minutes from Marienplatz by public transport, which means you get the real Munich experience without paying city center prices. The neighborhood has this authentic, residential feel — you know, actual Müncheners going about their daily lives, local bakeries, and tree-lined streets. There’s parking right on site too, which is honestly a godsend if you’re driving in Munich.
The Apartment Experience
What sets this place apart is that each room is essentially a mini-apartment with its own kitchenette. I mean, it’s not a full kitchen, but you’ve got everything you need — fridge, stovetop, basic cookware. Perfect for those mornings when you want coffee on your own schedule, or when you pick up some of those amazing German pastries and want to enjoy them properly. The rooms themselves are clean and functional, with that understated European style that just works.
Breakfast and Daily Rhythms
The breakfast setup here is solid — they do both continental and buffet style, so you can grab something quick or settle in for a proper meal. What I really noticed is how many repeat guests there are; you’ll see the same faces at breakfast, and the staff actually remembers people’s preferences. That tells you something about a place, you know? It’s not just a stopover — people genuinely like staying here.
Why Guests Love It
The thing about Central Hotel-Apart München is that it gets the basics absolutely right. Couples especially seem to love it here — apparently they rate the location 8.6 out of 10, and I can see why. You’re close enough to everything that matters, but far enough away that you can actually relax. The restaurant scene in the area is pretty good too, with some excellent traditional Bavarian spots within walking distance. It’s the kind of place where you can have a real Munich experience without feeling like you’re constantly surrounded by tour groups.

Reviews of Central Hotel-Apart München
Thomas from Austria – 28 April 2025 (8/10)
Simple, clean, comfortable. Easy check-in, also after hours. Helpful staff. Excellent location next to subway and beautiful baroque church. My first stay and I am looking forward to return.
Rachelle from Canada – 2 April 2025 (9/10)
One of the most comfortable hotels we have stayed at. Staff especially in restaurant were over and above kind. Clean as could be! Loved the church bells
Scott from Australia – 18 February 2025 (9/10)
Location, the facilities, breakfast and flexibility to leave my luggage in my room prior to check-in time. This is my 2nd time at this hotel
What could be improved: Nothing comes to mind.Sercan from Turkey – 15 December 2024 (8/10)
İt was just like a house. I mean it was quite large. I suggest here for families.
Breakfast was great.David from United Kingdom – 21 October 2024 (9/10)
I stayed here for Oktoberfest. I had to book last minute as the Ibis along the road cancelled my booking the week before. However, it was a really good room with kitchen facilities and fridge. Better than the IBIS. Price was OK considering it was a last minute booking during Oktoberfest. 10 minute walk to the train station and then it is a direct train into the city centre.
What could be improved: It was very suitable for me.Jorja from Australia – 29 September 2024 (8/10)
Located right near the train station, about 20 mins trip to city centre. Not much going on in the suburb but if you want to save money while at Oktoberfest it does the job. Everything was clean and well sized, only complaint was there is no air conditioning, only a small fan so if you run hot that could be an issue.
What could be improved: No air conditioningKhalil from Bahrain – 16 September 2024 (9/10)
Staff very helpful
Iskra from North Macedonia – 28 August 2024 (9/10)
Great location, very quiet and easy to find. The connection with public transport is excellent, tram and metro available in just 2-3min walk. Staff was helpful, funny and polite. Room was decent, had everything needed.
What could be improved: The price was almost doubled than normally, due to lot of concerts in the city.Michaela from Czech Republic – 20 August 2024 (8/10)
Breakfast were good, there were many options to choose from and nice ladies serving the breakfast. Also balcony was perfect for the hot weather. Most important for me was location and check-in at 2pm (some hotels have 3pm check-in). Hotel has a garden so you have nice view at the breakfast or a place where you can sit in the evening, you feel like in forest. Also hotel is in the nice neighbourhood, it feels safe and like home, with U-Bahn and Tram near by. I reccomend It!
What could be improved: Prize was higher because of the Adele concert. I think the prizes are usually lower in this hotel.
There was church ringing in the morning, but that's not that big deal..Sharon from United Kingdom – 13 August 2024 (8/10)
Clean, with balcony excellent, peaceful location. Staff excellent especially Geoff on the reception.
What could be improved: Nothing
