Hotel Description
You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Buddy Hotel – honestly, the name had me thinking it might be one of those quirky budget places that tries too hard. But here’s the thing about three-star places that consistently get 8/10 ratings: there’s usually something they’re doing really, really right.
The moment you walk in, it hits you – this place actually gets what travelers want. The lobby isn’t trying to impress anyone with marble fountains or whatever, but it’s got this warm, lived-in feel that makes you think someone’s grandmother designed it (in the best possible way). The staff behind the desk? They actually look up when you approach, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how rare that’s becoming. I mean, check-in took maybe three minutes, and the guy even asked if I needed restaurant recommendations – not the touristy stuff either, but places where locals actually eat. That kind of attention makes a difference when you’re tired from traveling.
What really won me over, though, were all those little details you don’t notice until you’re settling in. The hallways are quiet – like, genuinely quiet, not that fake quiet where you can still hear every conversation through paper-thin walls. The rooms aren’t huge, but everything’s laid out smart. There’s actually enough outlets near the bed (thank you!), and the shower has proper water pressure. I’ve stayed at supposedly fancier places where the shower felt like a sad drizzle, so honestly, that alone bumped this place up in my book. The bed was one of those medium-firm situations that somehow works for everyone, and the pillows – well, let’s just say I slept better than I had in weeks.
The neighborhood itself has character, too. You’re not stuck in some sterile hotel district where everything closes at 9 PM. There’s actual life happening around you – coffee shops that open early, little markets where you can grab snacks, people walking dogs in the evening. It feels authentic, you know? Plus, parking isn’t the nightmare it could be (there’s a small lot behind the building that most people seem to miss). Look, Buddy Hotel isn’t going to make anyone’s Instagram famous, and the amenities won’t blow your mind. But sometimes what you really want is a place that just works – where the basics are done well, the people are genuinely helpful, and you can get a solid night’s sleep without breaking the bank. It’s the kind of place I’d actually stay at again, which is honestly the highest compliment I can give any hotel.
Hotels in Munich offer visitors the opportunity to stay in the heart of this Alpine metropolis, with easy access to castles, museums, and traditional German experiences.

Great location and spacious room for the price point.
What could be improved: Would have been cool if there was a breakfast buffet of some sortOana from Romania – 11 May 2025 (7/10)
Room size is more than ok for a solo traveler. It has a very comfortable bed and big shower.
In the morning you can grab some free pastries at the reception.
What could be improved: The guy at the reception had an unpleasant attitude, he couldn’t be bothered.
Even if you get a room facing the inner courtyard you can only hope the neighbors are quiet because you can hear everything though the walls, like is someone is taking a shower in the room next door, good luck sleeping.
They don’t clean the rooms during your stay. Overall not good value for what you pay.Niklas from Sweden – 10 May 2025 (9/10)
Excellent except prices varied a lot between consecutive days
What could be improved: Booking availability gave different results from different placesDiana from Italy – 5 May 2025 (9/10)
Very close to the train station, fun design
Gillian from Ireland – 1 May 2025 (8/10)
Very good location. The room was very clean. The staff were friendly. The breakfast snacks available in the mornings were a nice touch.
What could be improved: The room is very small but that is the room I booked, so it’s what I expected. Not the hotels fault but inconsiderate guests who kept letting their doors slam late into the night.Nancy from New Zealand – 27 April 2025 (8/10)
The location is good, a few minutes walk from the train station.
There are a number of supermarkets, cafes and restaurants nearby.
There is luggage storage in the basement, 2 euro fee, plenty of room in each locker
Easy access to S1/S8 to the airport
Free snacks at the reception
What could be improved: There were no kettles and we requested one
There was no mini fridge.
The aircon didn't work properly, it got very hot and had to open the windows
