What gets me is how they’ve set up the apartments – you get a proper kitchenette that’s actually usable (I’ve stayed in places where the “kitchen” is basically a microwave and a prayer), decent counter space, and appliances that don’t look like they were salvaged from 1987. The living areas feel grown-up without being stuffy, if that makes sense. Good lighting too, which sounds boring but honestly makes such a difference when you’re trying to work or just unwind after walking around the city all day.

Here’s the thing about staying in Schwabing – you’re walking distance from the English Garden, which is perfect for morning runs or those inevitable afternoon beer garden sessions, but you’re also close enough to the university area that there are actually good, cheap places to eat that aren’t tourist traps. I found this little Turkish place around the corner that became my regular spot, and there’s a decent bakery maybe two blocks away where the locals actually go. The 8.2 rating feels about right – it’s solidly good without being flashy, and honestly, the three-star rating is almost misleading because the apartments feel more upscale than that suggests. I think they’re just not trying to compete with the fancy hotels downtown, which keeps the prices reasonable. The area gets a bit lively on weekends (university neighborhood, what do you expect?), but it’s not obnoxious party noise, more like the sound of people actually enjoying themselves. Check-in was smooth – they’re pretty flexible about timing, which matters when you’re dealing with flight delays or train schedules that never quite work out the way you planned.
