You know what? I walked past Bold Hotel München Giesing probably a dozen times before I actually stayed there, and honestly, I was sleeping on this place. It’s tucked into the Giesing neighborhood – which, if you don’t know Munich well, sits just southeast of the city center and has this really authentic, lived-in feel that you won’t find in the touristy Altstadt area. The building itself doesn’t scream “look at me” from the street, but that’s actually part of its charm. It’s got this understated confidence that I really appreciate.

Once you’re inside, the whole vibe shifts – it’s modern without being sterile, you know? The lobby has these warm wood accents and clean lines that somehow manage to feel both sophisticated and approachable. I mean, it’s a 3-star place, so don’t expect marble everything, but the design choices are smart and thoughtful. The rooms are what I’d call efficiently comfortable – not huge, but every inch is used well. The beds are actually pretty great (I’m picky about mattresses), and the bathroom setup is clever without feeling cramped. What surprised me most was how quiet it stays, even though you’re right in the middle of a residential area with decent street life.

Here’s the thing about Giesing that most visitors don’t realize – you’re incredibly well connected to everything, but you’re also experiencing how real Müncheners actually live. There’s a U-Bahn station practically around the corner that gets you to Marienplatz in maybe fifteen minutes, but step outside the hotel and you’ve got neighborhood bakeries, proper local restaurants (not tourist traps), and this genuine community feel. I watched the morning routine unfold from my window – people heading to work, kids walking to school, the whole rhythm of actual Munich life. The staff here gets this too – they’re not putting on some hospitality theater, they’re just genuinely helpful people who know their neighborhood inside and out. When I asked about dinner recommendations, I got sent to places where I was clearly the only non-German speaker, which is exactly what I wanted. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle if you’re driving (street spots fill up fast), but honestly, you probably don’t need a car from here anyway. The 8.1 rating makes perfect sense to me – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Munich, but it absolutely nails what it is trying to be.

Travelers should reserve a hotel in Munich at least two months ahead for major events like Oktoberfest, ensuring the best rates and prime locations near festival grounds.

  The areas of the hotel were very nice, the staff very gentle, answered all of our questions. The room was suitable for a family, nice and spacious.

  What could be improved: They could not do twin beds so two adults, who did not want to share a bed, had to share a double bed.
  The hotel is not close to public transport, by Munich standards, so it was a tough walk from the U Bahn with luggage and getting to the City centre took at least 30 minutes. It is in an industrial area so nothing pretty nearby.
