Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about Bohemian Chic Sage Dreams? The name makes it sound like some overly artsy place where you’d find crystals in the lobby, but honestly – it’s actually one of the most thoughtfully designed hotels I’ve stayed at in Munich. Right on Marsstraße, just a stone’s throw from the Hauptbahnhof, which I initially worried about because, well, train station areas can be sketchy. But this little pocket of Maxvorstadt is actually pretty charming, especially once you’re tucked inside.
The moment you walk in, there’s this sage green color scheme that somehow doesn’t feel forced or Instagram-y – more like someone with actual taste decided to create a calming space. The rooms have these beautiful textured walls and vintage-inspired furniture that feels substantial, not like the flimsy stuff you get at chain hotels. I mean, the bed was ridiculously comfortable, but what really got me were the little touches: proper blackout curtains (a godsend when you’re dealing with jet lag), quality linens that actually felt luxurious, and – this might sound weird – but the lighting was perfect for reading. You’d be surprised how many hotels mess that up. The bathroom had this amazing rainfall shower, though I’ll be honest, it took me a minute to figure out the controls.
Location-wise, you’re literally a three-minute walk from the train station, which is clutch if you’re planning day trips to Salzburg or the castles. But here’s what I really loved – you can walk to Theresienwiese (yes, where Oktoberfest happens) in about fifteen minutes, and the old town is totally doable on foot if you don’t mind a pleasant twenty-minute stroll. The staff actually gave me this insider tip about cutting through the university area to avoid the tourist crowds on Ludwigstraße. Parking can be a pain in this part of town, but they’ve got a deal with a garage nearby that’s way cheaper than street parking – definitely ask about it when you book. The breakfast spread was honestly impressive, with local breads and proper German cold cuts, not the sad continental stuff you usually get. One tiny thing though – the elevators are a bit slow, but given how beautifully restored this building is, I’m guessing that’s just part of the charm. With a 9.8 rating, I can see why people rave about this place. It’s got that rare combination of being genuinely stylish without trying too hard, plus the staff clearly knows Munich inside and out.

Fantastic stay — the bohemian style was perfect, had everything I needed, and the new host nailed it – 8bhu from United Kingdom – July 28, 2025 (10/10)
Such a beautiful place, compact but had everything you could possible need and so close to the city centre. In fact it was too easy to linger there rather than get out into the city! Comfortable bed (a must have for me). A great host who was prompt and kind.
What could be improved: No air con. Not a massive deal but it was exceptionally hot in Munich during my stay. An air fan was provided which in non heat wave weather is more than enough.Exceptional – Anonymous from Czech Republic – July 24, 2025 (10/10)
Wonderful stay!
I really enjoyed my stay at this apartment. Vanessa is a fantastic host — kind, attentive, and very communicative. The check-in instructions were clear, and communication throughout was quick and easy. The apartment itself was clean, cozy, and perfectly located — close to the main train station, yet peaceful and quiet.
What I appreciated most was Vanessa’s openness to feedback and her genuine care for guests. It truly felt like she wanted to make the experience as pleasant as possible.
Highly recommended — and I wish Vanessa many more wonderful guests! 🌟Nette Abwechslung zu "nur' praktisch eingerichteten Appartements mit sehr guter Verkehrsanbindung. – Anja from Germany – June 5, 2025 (10/10)
Einkaufsmöglichkeiten (Aldi, Rewe) in direkter Nähe.
Wir waren sehr zufrieden!sehr empfehlenswert für einen unkomplizierten Aufrnthalt – Heiko from Germany – June 4, 2025 (9/10)
sehr schön eingerichtet
What could be improved: Die Duschwanne hat einen hohen Einstieg aber sonst alles top und neuExceptional – Anandkumar from Malaysia – June 25, 2025 (10/10)
