You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked into Bob W Munich Schwabing – the name honestly sounds more like a quirky hostel than a proper 4-star hotel. But this place totally surprised me, and I mean that in the best way possible.

The whole vibe is refreshingly different from those stuffy traditional Munich hotels you usually find. It’s got this modern, almost apartment-style setup that actually makes sense when you’re staying more than just a night or two. The rooms feel more like a cool friend’s place than a hotel room – there’s real personality here, with thoughtful design touches that don’t scream “hotel chain.” I particularly loved how they’ve managed to keep things sleek without feeling cold, which is honestly pretty rare. The kitchenette situation is legit too, not one of those sad mini-fridges with a hot plate situation you sometimes get.

What really sold me on this place, though, is the Schwabing location. I mean, you’re right in one of Munich’s most interesting neighborhoods – the kind of area where you can grab amazing coffee at a local spot in the morning, then stumble onto a fantastic restaurant you’ve never heard of for dinner. It’s got that university district energy without being too chaotic, and you’re close enough to the English Garden that you can actually walk there when you need some green space (which, let’s be honest, you will after a few days of German food and beer). The 8.8 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s those little details that add up, like how the staff actually seems to care about making your stay work for you, not just getting through their checklist.

The only thing I’d mention is that Schwabing can get pretty lively on weekends, but the windows are solid and I never had trouble sleeping. Plus, if you’re the type who wants to be where things are happening rather than tucked away in some business district, this is exactly where you want to be. Check-in was smooth too – none of that awkward hovering around the lobby while they figure out their system. Honestly, I’d stay here again, and that’s saying something because I’m usually pretty picky about hotels.

  not for people with walking stick.
  Check-in just with app, opening door of lift juat with app, opening door of appartment just with app.
  Pity it s not written somewhere before – it s not suitable for very old people.

  Perfect location, in a very quiet area and close to the city. The apartment is modern and has everything needed to prepare a small meal. Many shops nearby and several transport stops. I had a problem with a toaster and they resolved it on the same day. Easy communication even via cell phone.

  Very comfortable and clean, simple instructions. Location is also good, close to the city center and grocery stores, bars, etc. A bit expensive but worth it!

  Amazing location, Ubahn just around the corner. Shops and cafes around. Great facilities in the apartment, comfy bed. We had everything we need. Top quality kitchenware and cookware.
  
  What could be improved: Apartment gets very warm even with the heating off and windows open through out the day. Works great for winter. Summers could be too hot.

  The location being close to the Underground and a short walk to restaurants was very good and useful. Did have to make sure we all took our phones otherwise you can't get back into you apartment with everything being based on site codes linked to your phone/app
