Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to the B&B Hotel München-Moosach, I wasn’t expecting much. It’s one of those modern chain hotels that looks pretty standard from the outside, but you know what? Sometimes standard is exactly what you need, especially in a city where hotel prices can make your wallet cry.
The Moosach location is actually pretty clever if you think about it. Sure, you’re not stumbling distance from Marienplatz, but hear me out – you’re right on the U-Bahn line, and I mean literally a few minutes’ walk to the Moosach station. That U3 line gets you straight into the city center in about 15 minutes, which honestly beats dealing with Munich’s traffic and parking nightmare any day. Plus (and this is something I wish someone had told me before my first Munich trip), you’re close enough to the Olympic Park that you can actually walk there on a nice day. The morning jogs around Olympiasee became sort of a ritual for me.
The rooms themselves are clean and functional – think IKEA meets German efficiency, which sounds boring but works surprisingly well. The beds are actually comfortable, not just hotel-marketing comfortable, and the shower has decent water pressure. I mean, it’s not going to win any design awards, but after a long day of wandering through the Englischer Garten or nursing a hangover from the Augustiner-Bräu, you’ll appreciate the blackout curtains and the fact that it’s quiet. Really quiet. The neighborhood isn’t exactly buzzing with nightlife, so you can actually sleep without earplugs – something that’s rarer than you’d think in Munich hotels.
What I really liked was how straightforward everything felt. Check-in was quick, the staff spoke English without that slightly pained expression you sometimes get, and there’s a little breakfast setup that’s nothing fancy but gets the job done. The coffee’s decent enough, and there’s actual variety in the bread selection (this is Germany, after all). You’re also walking distance from some local spots that tourists don’t really know about – there’s this Turkish place on Pelkovenstraße that makes incredible döner, and a little bakery that opens ridiculously early if you need real coffee before catching a train.
The 7.8 rating makes sense to me because it delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense. It’s not trying to be boutique or charming – it’s trying to be a clean, reliable place to sleep that doesn’t cost €200 a night during Oktoberfest. And honestly, in Munich’s hotel landscape, that’s worth something. If you’re the type who spends most of your time exploring the city anyway and just needs a comfortable base, this place works. Just don’t expect room service or a concierge who knows where to get last-minute opera tickets.
To book hotel in Munich during the famous Oktoberfest season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts beer enthusiasts and cultural travelers from around the world.

Very convenient location. Clean and modern apartment. Surprisingly very quiet considering the fact windows are overlooking rail track. Very convenient if traveling by train. Traveling by car a bit challenging due to limited parking. Overall very positive. Good value for money. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Have stayed here maybe half a dozen times, for good reasons:
Value for money. Location – outside of the city centre, but with multiple transport options literally outside (tram, bus, u-bahn, s-bahn), getting to the centre is very, very easy. Safe area. Friendly and efficient staff. Excellent secure underground car parking. Easy and quick access from the 99 autobahn.

Good transport links into Munich centre and airport.
No B&B, but a nice bakery next door.
I would certainly use it again.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
What could be improved: No B&BCaitlin from Australia – 16 November 2024 (9/10)
Perfect location/price for Oktoberfest. Room was clean and comfortable. Accomodation is just 15 mins away from the centre and 25 mins from Oktoberfest grounds by public transport. S-bahn, tram and underground stations right outside the hotel.
Rebecca from Australia – 1 October 2024 (9/10)
Big clean room, really comfortable beds. Plenty of power points and a good hair-dryer
What could be improved: No issuesMelissa from United States – 27 September 2024 (9/10)
Excellent location to S1 line for ease of going in/out of Munich city center for Oktoberfest and for access to airport. Safe neighborhood. A lot of options available for food around hotel. Quiet. Shampoo provided. Cafe located next door. There was some construction but didn’t notice it too much. Excellent value for the time I was there during the festival with still convenient access to the fairgrounds.
What could be improved: After 11 there is no one at the desk and came down to get some water from vending machine and the vending machine card function isn’t working and i didn’t have enough coins only bills.
