Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to B&B Hotel München City-Ost, I wasn’t expecting much from the exterior. It’s got that modern, efficient vibe that screams “business hotel,” but you know what? Sometimes that’s exactly what you need, and this place actually delivers on the basics really well.
The thing about this hotel is that it sits in that sweet spot where Munich starts feeling less touristy and more like where actual locals live and work. You’re not going to stumble out the front door into Marienplatz (thank god, because those crowds can be exhausting), but you’re also not stranded in some industrial wasteland either. The area has this quiet, residential feel during the day, and honestly, I slept better here than I did at fancier places in the city center because there wasn’t constant street noise from drunk tourists at 2 AM. The rooms are clean in that German way – I mean, everything just works properly, which is more than I can say for some boutique places I’ve stayed. The beds are actually comfortable (not too soft, not like sleeping on concrete), and the shower has decent water pressure. Nothing fancy, but after a long day walking around Munich’s cobblestone streets, that’s all you really want anyway.
What surprised me most was how the staff seemed to genuinely care about helping you figure out the city. The woman at reception – I think her name was Sarah? – she didn’t just hand me a generic tourist map. She actually marked up specific U-Bahn stops and mentioned which bakery nearby opens earliest for proper German breakfast rolls. Speaking of getting around, the public transport connections are solid once you know where you’re going, though it’ll take you maybe 20-25 minutes to get into the heart of things. But here’s the thing – that 8.2 rating makes sense because this place does exactly what it promises without any weird surprises. The WiFi works throughout the building, the rooms stay warm (crucial in Munich winters), and I never had to worry about whether my key card would actually open the door. It’s not Instagram-worthy or romantic, but if you’re the type of traveler who’d rather spend money on a proper dinner at a beer garden than on thread count, this is your spot. Plus, you’ll probably end up chatting with interesting business travelers and locals in the lobby rather than just other tourists – which, depending on your mood, can be a nice change of pace from the usual travel bubble.
To book hotel in Munich during the famous Oktoberfest season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts beer enthusiasts and cultural travelers from around the world.

Location was really good, small walk to the closest train station to reach the city centre quickly. There were shops around to get food and drink easily.
What could be improved: There were no tea / coffee amenities in the room but a vending machine in the lobby if you wanted on.Khaasie from Philippines – 9 October 2024 (9/10)

I was on my way from Essen to Dachau, there was rain, storms, crashes on the highway. I had a reservation in Dachau from Saturday and there was no room in that hotel, so I stayed in a B&B that I found through Booking.com. I spent the night, drank coffee and continued on. In the dining room, I saw that the breakfast is take-your-own type. And it makes me OK. The light bulb on my car burned out and I was changing it in the garage, the receptionist asked me if I needed help. Very nice.
And very importantly, there is an underground garage.
What could be improved: There is none.Prashanth from India – 15 September 2024 (8/10)

Convenience of the location of the hotel near public transport is good. Penny store downstairs is also useful.
What could be improved: Nothing in particular.Filip from Croatia – 8 September 2024 (9/10)
10-minute walk from the metro station, late check-in went smoothly.
What could be improved: The breakfast could have more options.
