Arthotel Ana im Olympiapark Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Arthotel Ana im Olympiapark, you immediately notice this isn’t your typical chain hotel. The art-focused concept runs throughout the property, and honestly, it works really well — there’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that feels more like a gallery than a standard business hotel. The four-star property sits right in the Milbertshofen – Am Hart district, which might not sound familiar if you’re new to Munich, but trust me, the location is actually brilliant for what most travelers want to do here.

Location & Getting Around

Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re literally next to Olympiapark, which means you can walk to the BMW Welt and BMW Museum in about ten minutes. The 1972 Olympic grounds are right there too, and if you’re into architecture or just want some great city views, the Olympic Tower is worth the trip up. The U-Bahn connections are solid from here, so getting into Munich’s city center takes maybe 15-20 minutes. Couples seem to really get this location (they rate it 9.0), and I can see why — it’s got that perfect balance of being near major attractions but away from the tourist crowds.

The Room Experience

The rooms lean into that art hotel concept without going overboard. You’ll find thoughtful design touches and original artwork, but it doesn’t feel like you’re sleeping in a museum. My room was well-sized for a Munich hotel, which — let’s be honest — isn’t always a given in this city. The beds are comfortable, and the bathrooms are modern without being flashy. What I really appreciated was how quiet everything was, especially considering you’re in a major city.

Breakfast & Practical Stuff

The breakfast setup here is actually impressive — they’ve got continental options, but also vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free choices that don’t feel like afterthoughts. It’s buffet-style, so you can take your time, and they even throw in some American options if you’re craving something familiar. The restaurant area has good natural light, which makes morning coffee feel less rushed. Oh, and there’s parking right at the hotel, which is honestly a huge relief if you’re driving in Munich — finding spots in this city can be a nightmare.

Why Guests Love It

What really sets this place apart is how it manages to feel both local and accessible. You’re not stuck in the touristy Marienplatz area, but you’re not stranded in some random suburb either. The art theme gives the hotel personality without being gimmicky, and the staff seems to actually know the neighborhood well. Recent guests consistently rate the location highly, and after staying here, I get it — you feel like you’re experiencing Munich rather than just visiting it. Plus, having BMW Welt and Olympiapark as your backyard is pretty cool, whether you’re into cars and sports or just want some green space to explore.

Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Munich through trusted local agencies that provide insider knowledge about the best neighborhoods for experiencing the city’s rich Bavarian heritage.

Reviews of Arthotel Ana im Olympiapark

  • Flora from Austria – 25 May 2025 (8/10)

It was pretty close to the Olympia Hall which was nice since we were here for a concert, the staff was very friendly and the rooms were really nice

What could be improved: We didn‘t find the entrance at first, we walked around the builing and went in through the back, unfortunately there were no signs and i didn‘t find anything on the website on how to „correctly“ find the entrance, i was just a little confused on how to get up there

  • Ertan from Turkey – 5 May 2025 (8/10)

Clean and had restoration/renovated. It was close to my children location. The reason was it.

  • Mimosa from Finland – 3 May 2025 (9/10)

The hotel was clean and nice. Normal breakfast with good flavours. The staff were very helpful and kind (apart from 1 guy in the night shift). Nice big bed and the room was actually pretty spacious with a large bathroom and shower. The room has working AC and great views from the window.
The metro that goes directly to the centre is very near and there is a grocery store right next to the hotel. The area is calm and the hotel is a walkable distance from the olympic stadium, if you're going to an event.

What could be improved: The hotel is hard to find. It's on a second floor in a resident building in the also hard to navigate Olympic village. The building looks terrible on the outside! But once you find it, it's good on the inside. The Olympic village is also a "locals area", there's not many restaurants or shops there and absolutely no one knows english.

The hotel room had a sliding door for the bathroom. I think it was sound proofed, but i know some people would like an actual door for the toilet.

  • Max from Czech Republic – 1 May 2025 (9/10)

    Clean rooms and whole hotel
    Tasty and fresh breakfast
Location near BMW museum and Welt

What could be improved: bit noisy outside but that is understood in the city
little bit complicated arrival to the parking

  • Nicola from United Kingdom – 9 March 2025 (8/10)

Great location for the purpose of our trip, easy walk from metro.
    Beds were exceptionally comfortable.
    Included breakfast was very good.
    Superb value for money.

What could be improved: If I had to pick something, it would be that it is very dated, but that added a certain charm. I wouldn’t want a lengthy stay, but for one or two nights, it’s a perfect base.

  • Rajesh from Germany – 26 February 2025 (9/10)

Great location, small shopping area, groceries and restaurants.

  • Nichola from United Kingdom – 19 February 2025 (9/10)

Fantastic customer service, we arrived earlier than check in, frozen and tired, and they allowed us in abit earlier so we could rest. Always greeted with a smile and the cleaning was exceptional. Clean towels daily and beds made. Perfect location with everything in walking distance.

What could be improved: The breakfast I felt like was overly priced and the noise with building/renovations woke me up early in the mornings. The cleaner was repeatedly knocking on the door on our last day asking what time we were leaving whilst my son and I were packing our bags to leave and check out wasn’t until 11am.

  • Ekaterina from Cyprus – 13 February 2025 (9/10)

The hotel is excellent, clean, cozy, comfortable beds, the room size is sufficient for a comfortable stay. There is coffee and tea in the room, the staff is friendly. Very good breakfast and varied. Special thanks to the breakfast staff – they were very helpful. The location is ideal for exploring the BMW Museum. There are many cafes and grocery stores nearby. Near the metro station, it is convenient to get to the center. Parking is an average price for Munich.

What could be improved: I would give 10 points, but I have to lower my score for the staff's work. Upon arrival, we were warned that cleaning is not every day, and if we want our room to be cleaned, we must inform the reception. And as a bonus for the lack of daily cleaning, a bottle of water is free. When we left, it was a surprise that we had several bottles of water added to the bill for 4 euros each. We didn't ask for cleaning, but to be fair, they cleaned our place every day and left a bottle of water. I think it would be correct to inform the guests that the water in the room is paid and indicate its cost. After all, the water in the nearby supermarket costs 1.5 euros for a large bottle.

  • Neil from United Kingdom – 17 January 2025 (9/10)

Generous size rooms and the staff are super helpful!

  • Oana from Switzerland – 15 January 2025 (7/10)

Breakfast was very nice and staff was exceptional

What could be improved: Beds are very uncomfortable, mattresses are saggy and the bathrooms have old and rusty fittings.
