But don’t let that throw you off, because what you’re getting here is actually a pretty solid apartment-style setup in Munich’s Trudering-Riem district that most tourists completely overlook.

I mean, let’s be real about the location first – you’re not exactly in the heart of the Altstadt here. Stahlgruberring is more of a residential area, which actually works in your favor if you want to live like a local for a few days instead of being surrounded by other travelers taking selfies with pretzels. The Trudering S-Bahn station is walkable (though I’d grab a day pass for the MVV system because Munich’s public transport is honestly fantastic), and you know what’s kind of cool? You’re pretty close to the old Munich Trade Fair grounds, which have been transformed into this whole mixed-use area with decent restaurants and green spaces. Plus, if you’re flying in or out, you’re already on the right side of the city for getting to the airport without crossing the entire metropolitan area.

The apartments themselves are… well, they’re three-star for a reason, but three stars that actually function properly. The kitchenettes aren’t just for show – I’m talking full-sized fridges and decent cooking facilities, which is clutch if you’re staying more than a couple nights or traveling with kids who have very specific opinions about breakfast. The rooms feel more spacious than your typical Munich hotel (and trust me, space is at a premium in this city), though the décor is sort of that universal modern-apartment beige that could be anywhere in Europe. What I appreciated was that everything worked – the wifi didn’t drop out every five minutes, the shower had decent water pressure, and the heating actually responded when you adjusted it. Small victories, but they matter when you’re dealing with jet lag or trying to get ready for a business meeting. The 7.4 rating feels about right; it’s not going to blow you away with luxury touches, but it won’t frustrate you with broken basics either. Parking is available, which is honestly a minor miracle in Munich, and the front desk staff seemed to actually know the neighborhood well enough to give useful directions to places that aren’t just tourist traps. If you’re looking for that classic Bavarian charm with carved wood and traditional touches, you’ll want to stay elsewhere and pay twice as much – but if you want a functional base that gives you room to breathe and explore Munich like someone who actually lives there, this place does the job quite well.

  The beds and size of the apartment were great. Lovely size fridge and plenty of room to hang clothes. Shower room was compact, clean and the water nice and hot.
  
  What could be improved: The shutter on the window in the bedroom did not close and there was no curtain. One bed had not been cleaned underneath as there was biscuits there.

  good location, 10min walk to subway (Ubahn), key in key box (which broke one time but I guess this can happen and was fixed by the host right away)
  
  What could be improved: Its located in a industrial area so there is some noise form early morning on. The biggest down side is that the kitchen was ot fully equipped, i.e., there was not enough plates, cups, etc for 4 people (most of the things were there only for three people…)

  it was a good location to walk to Messe München. also it was good it had a fridge and a sink as well separate single beds and spacious rooms.
  
  What could be improved: it was easy to collect the keys but not entirely clear which was the right key as two of them had the label "1" on them which fit our apartment. Shower head was calcified and the water splashed in all directions.

  What could be improved: The toilet papers that they have provided us were already used by their guests and they have not provided a new roll of toilet papers. The shower head was sensor generated so even if you are not planning to take a shower, you will be forced to take an unplanned shower because you will get wet. The faucet is also sensor generated and even if you will just wash your hands, your shirt could possibly get a little bit wet because of the splash from the sink.
