Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Aparthotel Adagio Muenchen City on Schwanthalerstraße, you immediately get that “I’m in the thick of things” feeling. This four-star property sits right in Ludwigsvorstadt, which honestly is one of those neighborhoods that locals actually hang out in — not just tourists. The building itself has that clean, modern European look without being flashy, and you can tell from the moment you step inside that this place knows what it’s doing.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re genuinely in the heart of Munich, but it doesn’t feel chaotic. Schwanthalerstraße runs parallel to the main train station area, so you’ve got incredible access to everything without the constant noise. I mean, couples rate this location 8.3 out of 10, and honestly, I get it. You can walk to Marienplatz in about 15 minutes, but you’re also close enough to the Glockenbachviertel that you can actually experience Munich’s nightlife scene. The U-Bahn connections are fantastic too — Theresienwiese station is practically around the corner.
The Apartment Experience
What sets this place apart is that you’re getting an apartment setup, not just a hotel room. Each unit comes with a proper kitchenette, which is actually useful — not one of those tiny things with just a mini-fridge. You know what’s great about this? You can grab fresh ingredients from the Viktualienmarkt and actually cook something decent. The living spaces feel lived-in rather than sterile, and there’s enough room to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. The beds are comfortable, and the bathrooms are modern without being over-designed.
Dining & Amenities
The breakfast situation here is solid — they do continental, vegetarian, and American options in a buffet style. It’s not going to blow your mind, but it’ll definitely fuel you for a day of exploring Munich. What I really appreciate is that they have parking available on-site, which if you’ve ever tried to park in central Munich, you’ll understand is basically a miracle. The staff speaks excellent English, and they’re genuinely helpful with local recommendations — not just the obvious tourist stuff.
Why Guests Love It
This isn’t the kind of place where you’ll Instagram every corner, but it’s exactly what you want for a Munich stay. You get the independence of having your own space with the reliability of a well-run hotel. The location score of 8.3 isn’t just a number — it reflects that sweet spot where you’re central enough to walk everywhere important, but tucked away enough that you feel like you’re experiencing the real city. For couples especially, there’s something nice about being able to grab a bottle of wine and some cheese, then retreat to your own little Munich apartment for the evening.

Guest Reviews
Great, central location. Close to HBF, shops, cafes and the Fruhlingsfest/Oktoberfest site. Walking distance to Marianplatz and the Viktualienmarkt.
Comfortable studio room with kitchenette, plus a clothes drying rack over the shower.
24 hour reception with friendly, helpful staff. We were very grateful for the advice to do our grocery shopping early, seeing the next day was a public holiday.
Free tea and coffee from the ground floor kitchen.
What could be improved: It was a little noisy because it was on a main street.
Generally hotel was well maintained, with a good size room;
the mini kitchen was excellent (fridge, microwave oven, cooking stove & utensils)
and the convenient kettle (coffee & tea).
What could be improved: The water heater was not functioning on the last evening, otherwise the stay was comfortable.
Location, facilities and friendly staffs
What could be improved: A bit poor WiFi connectivity
Thank you Hassan , you and your team made our stay comfortable and enjoyable!
Lovely spacious apartment, very clean and as described. Very good value for money as only a few minute walk from the central train station. Area is a bit tired and there were roadworks everywhere which made the hotel difficult to find but we heard no noise in the actual hotel so sleep was good! Was allowed to early check in as our room was ready which is always a plus.
What could be improved: Having to pay 250euro up front as deposit, I didn't know about this and luckily had thefunds to cover it but it would have been nice to have been prepared. Also it was refunded to me on check out which seemed pointless as the room hadn't even been checked at that point..
Great location, easy to walk to most of Munich's major attractions. The staff were very friendly, and the coffee maker down at reception is free to use for all of your coffee/tea/hot chocolate needs (always a bonus!). We had a lovely Christmas break here and would definitely stay again :)
What could be improved: A better stock of cutlery and utensils in the apartment would be an improvement - the bowls and plates were tiny so serving 'proper' meals was a little challenging. However this was in no way a major issue and we managed to cook in our apartment comfortably enough :)
We could help ourselves to free coffee, tea and hot chocolate whenever we wanted. The property is a 10 minute walk away from the station, and similarly from Karlsplatz making the location quite convenient. The coffee shop just round the corner and Lidl supermarket close is a great bonus.
What could be improved: The door to the apartment and to the bathroom did not close properly. The AC at night made rattling noises and a few light bulbs were flickering. Also the 750 euro fine that you will get if you trigger the fire alarm is a deterrent and stops you from using small appliances like a simple kettle. We were also told to keep the bathroom door closed when showering as the steam might trigger the alarm.
Location was excellent- less than 10 mins to the main train station
What could be improved: Small
Very convenient location to train stations, bus stops. The bed was super comfortable. Iron and board was in the bed room. Coffee machine was a nice touch in the lobby. Can’t comment on the kitchen as we did not use it.
What could be improved: The shower drain could do with being stuck to the drain as it moves around. Shower did randomly go cold for a second when we used it.
Excellent hassle free short stay. Very close to railway station and an easy 20 minute walk into the centre of Munic with all the sites
Friendly staff
