Hotel Description

You know what? I wasn’t sure what to expect from the Aloft München when I first walked in, but this place actually gets the whole “modern boutique without trying too hard” thing right. The lobby hits you with this industrial-chic vibe – all concrete and steel mixed with pops of color that somehow don’t feel forced. There’s usually some decent music playing (not the generic elevator stuff you get at most chain hotels), and the staff behind the check-in counter actually seem like they want to be there.

The rooms are honestly pretty smartly designed for the space they’re working with. I mean, Munich real estate isn’t cheap, so they’ve made every square meter count without making you feel cramped. The bed’s solid – I’m talking actually comfortable, not just decent hotel comfortable – and the shower has that rainfall head that actually works properly. What I really appreciated was the lighting situation; you can dim things down properly instead of being stuck with those harsh overhead lights that make you look like you’re in an interrogation room. The soundproofing is better than you’d expect too, which matters because Munich can get pretty lively, especially during festival season.

Here’s the thing about staying here – you’re not right in the tourist chaos of Marienplatz, but you’re not stuck in some business district wasteland either. Getting around is actually straightforward once you figure out the U-Bahn connections nearby. The neighborhood has that lived-in feel where you’ll find actual Müncheners grabbing coffee, not just tour groups. I found myself walking to different areas pretty easily, and there’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that doesn’t scream “tourist hotel” from the outside. The bar downstairs gets busy but not obnoxiously so – it’s got this relaxed after-work crowd that makes for decent people-watching. Honestly, for a 4-star place with an 8.6 rating, it delivers on what it promises without any of that overselling nonsense you get at places trying to punch above their weight. If you want something current and comfortable without paying luxury prices or dealing with stuffy service, this works really well.

  located right by the main train station . the street itself is not in a nice area but safe very short distance walk from the old town and all the main attraction. right by the central station bus and tram/ the room was very spacious and clean / staff was nice and easy

  The hotel room was spacious, very comfortable and the hotel was very conveniently located to the main train station and other transport, as well as being walking distance to the centre of the city.

  The room was very spacious and ideal for a family of four. The breakfast was varied and catered for a number of intolerances. The staff was very helpful with a problem we encountered that had nothing to do with the hotel itself. Staff was always available when we requested additional items like the use of the microwave or ice for our water bottles.

  What could be improved: In brekfest there was forks made of wood. Those were horrible.

  The location was amazing as it is very close the Munich central station. The room was very clean and coffee was even provided.
  
  What could be improved: We would have loved clean sheets. I understand from an environmental point of view, but a change after a few days would have been nice.
