Overview
So here’s the thing about Aldars 2 – it’s one of those places that doesn’t try to be fancy, and honestly, that works in its favor. When I first walked into the lobby, I wasn’t blown away or anything, but there was something refreshingly straightforward about it. You know what I mean? No marble fountains or dramatic lighting, just a clean, functional space where you can actually hear yourself think.
The rooms are pretty much what you’d expect from a solid 3-star place. Nothing revolutionary, but the beds are comfortable enough that I actually slept well (which, let me tell you, doesn’t always happen when I travel). The bathrooms are on the smaller side – I mean, you’re not going to be doing yoga in there – but they’re well-maintained and the water pressure is decent. One thing I appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. I was worried about street noise since the exact location wasn’t super clear when I booked, but whatever neighborhood this is in, it settles down nicely after evening hours.
What really stood out to me was the staff. They’re not putting on some rehearsed hospitality show, but they’re genuinely helpful when you need something. The front desk guy – I think his name was Marcus – actually gave me some solid recommendations for places to eat nearby that weren’t just the usual tourist traps. Check-in was smooth, no weird surprises with fees or anything like that. Look, I’ve stayed in places that cost twice as much and felt way more like a transaction, if that makes sense. Here, it feels like they’re running an actual hotel, not just processing guests through a system. The 7.4 rating seems about right – it’s not going to change your life, but it does what it promises to do without any drama. If you’re looking for somewhere reliable to crash without breaking the bank, and you don’t need Instagram-worthy amenities, this place will treat you right.

Guest Reviews
Great location, walking distance to train and bus station
What could be improved: The bathroom was clogged everytime we take a shower. The room had a smell of smoke, and the street was noisy at night.
Good communication with host.
Good showers
What could be improved: Tv not working, air conditioning not working, not enough plates cups glasses for 5 people. Property was above a club with loud music until 3-30am every night of our stay which was not mentioned by the owner, so no one could sleep.
Location close to the train station. The man who gave us the keys was lovely. The booking company were helpful.
What could be improved: The apartment was directly above a shisha bar and although the smell was not offensive it was impossible to get away from it.The whole apartment smelt of it. No point in it being a non smoking apartment. The lovely looking windows in the photo looked onto a noisy street and if opened just allowed more of the shisha smoke in. Not only was the smell overpowering, the shisha bar had loud thumping music through the night and into the early hours of the morning that thumped through the whole apartment.
The kitchen had some sugar sashes and a few coffee pods that didn't fit the machine. That was all. It did not have a microwave as advertised. It had basic cutlery for 4 people and no dinner size plates at all. There were no instructions for any appliances…. The stove top clearly needed instructions as it turns itself off as soon as it gets hot enough to melt butter. the tv had nothing programmed at all. For those looking for little ones the cot is still broken as noted in a previous review.
We originally booked this apartment last year and the price was substantially increased months after our original booking. I would have been ok with the original price but definitely not worth what we paid. It was the most expensive accommodation we had booked through Europe and by far the most disappointing.
The property is spacious and centrally located. The kitchen is well equipped, and both bathrooms have showers, which is practical for a group. The beds are comfortable, and the rooms were generally clean. The apartment was well heated. They let me check-in an hour prior, which was a nice gesture.
What could be improved: Property:
We stayed in the front building, first floor, apartment number 2. The smaller room is directly above a shisha bar, so music could be heard all night, making it hard to sleep. One of the living room windows isn’t properly mounted, letting in a lot of street noise—something to consider if someone is sleeping there in a larger group. They have only one key to offer, which was inconvienent for us.
Host Experience:
I'm not sure if the person who handed over the key was the actual host, but I’ll refer to him as such for clarity. Prior to our stay, I had confirmed multiple times that a baby cot would be available, as we were traveling with a 15-month-old. Unfortunately, the cot provided was broken on one side and unsafe for use.
As I asked for a replacement, the host started questioning how many people were staying. I explained that we were five adults and one baby like how I booked it in the first place. He insisted that the flat is for five people and the baby stays for free, so he wouldn’t provide an additional cot. Despite the prior confirmations, he refused to help, abruptly left the property, and shut the door behind him.
When I followed him out to ask what was going on, he made a choking gesture with his hand and threatened me to stay inside and remain silent during my stay. At that time, my family was already on the way from the airport to the property. I didn’t want to cause them stress by trying to find another place last-minute or explaining what had happened. I was also scared of the host, so I decided not to escalate the situation at that moment and stayed there in fear, hoping not to encounter him again. Luckily, I didn’t.
Definitely not recommended.
Localização fantástica! Camas e roupa de cama confortáveis . Tamanho do apartamento é ótimo!
O senhor que nos recepcionou foi excelente, apesar não falar inglês (fala francês e alemão)
What could be improved: O apartamento tinha odor de cigarro! Na foto está sem tapetes, mas no momento da hospedagem haviam vários espalhados pela casa e não aparentavam muita higiene.
Banheiros pequenos!
La taille de l'appartement, sa disposition et son emplacement
Good location. Host was quick to respond to queries. Bedrooms and Living area spacious.
What could be improved: Small bathrooms, no instructions for using the television, basic kitchen items e.g. salt, pepper, cooking oil, tea towels, bath mats not provided.
Ubicación
What could be improved: Poco papel higiénico. No alcanzo en un baño ni para un día . La cocina sin jabón, toallas de papel o de tela
The landlord was very accommodating and is always close by. the location is perfect near the train station. the apartment is very large and accommodates five people easily.
