Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about the Adina Apartment Hotel Munich? It actually feels like staying in someone’s really well-appointed flat rather than a sterile hotel room – and I mean that in the best possible way. The moment you walk into your space, there’s this immediate sense of “oh, I could actually live here for a while” that’s pretty rare in most hotels, even the fancy ones.

The apartment-style setup is honestly brilliant if you’re staying more than a couple nights. I’m talking a proper kitchenette with everything you need (yes, even a dishwasher), plus that extra space to spread out your stuff without feeling like you’re living out of a suitcase. The living area flows naturally into the bedroom – well, in the larger units anyway – and there’s something refreshing about having a dining table where you can actually work or eat breakfast without perching on the edge of your bed. The whole place has this modern Australian vibe (Adina’s an Aussie brand, which explains a lot) with clean lines and those little design touches that feel intentional rather than generic hotel-bland.

What really sells me on this place is how they’ve nailed the practical stuff that most hotels somehow mess up. The Wi-Fi actually works properly throughout the entire apartment – not just near the router they’ve hidden somewhere. The air conditioning responds when you adjust it, imagine that. And honestly, the soundproofing is better than I expected; Munich can get pretty lively, especially if you’re anywhere near the city center, but I never felt like I was trying to sleep through a street party. The gym’s nothing spectacular, but it’s well-maintained and never crowded when I used it (early mornings seem to be the sweet spot). There’s also this nice communal terrace area that feels like a bit of a secret – great spot for an evening drink if you don’t feel like venturing out.

The location works really well for exploring Munich properly. You’re not right in the tourist chaos of Marienplatz, but you can easily reach the main sights without feeling like you need to plan a major expedition every time you want to grab dinner somewhere decent. I found myself walking to different neighborhoods pretty easily, and when you want to venture further out – maybe to catch a Bayern match or explore some of the beer gardens on the outskirts – the public transport connections are solid. The staff seems genuinely helpful too, not just going through the motions. When I needed restaurant recommendations beyond the obvious tourist spots, they actually knew what they were talking about.

Look, it’s not going to wow you with flashy amenities or over-the-top luxury, but that 8.6 rating makes complete sense. Sometimes you just want a place that does everything well without any drama – comfortable bed, reliable shower pressure, space to actually relax, and that apartment feel that makes you remember what it’s like to have a proper base in a new city rather than just a place to crash between sightseeing marathons.

Hotel in Munich booking should be done early, especially during Oktoberfest when the city hosts the world’s largest beer festival and cultural celebration.

  • Lorenzo from Germany – 24 May 2025 (9/10)

    Excellent view! Sauna top!

    What could be improved: Ostbahnhof

  • Usher from Australia – 27 April 2025 (9/10)

    Spacious room. Well equipped.
I loved that there were clear instructions to convert the washing machine to the dryer settings.
    Great views.
Very close to Muchen-OST train station, which worked for our departure.
20ish minutes walk to the centre but we like walking so it didn’t bother us at all.

What could be improved: Our air didn’t work properly but was eventually fixed.
Pillows aren’t great but I think this is pretty common over all of Europe.
As someone else mentioned, on checkout morning they come to your door to remind you. I don’t need that.

  • Warren from United Kingdom – 14 April 2025 (8/10)

We had block booked a total of 66 rooms at the Adina over a one-week period the Bauma trade show in April 2025, both for staff and customers. The building itself, the views, and the rooms are fantastic! Facilites are excellent, the bar area is superb. Absolutely second to none in Munich. They are the positives. During my stay of 6 nights, the room was not cleaned even on one occasion, which is incredibly disappointing. Despite the persistence of our staff to help the hotel organise customers coming and going on various nights there were several issues with rooms not allocated correctly etc. No real detriment as in the end the front desk staff worked very hard to resolve the issues in short time. One compliant I do have, which I did not appreciate, was being told by one gentleman on reception that we should have been made to pay extra to have the rooms cleaned during the stay! For a hotel of this caliber, and considering the rate per night, I would have wholly expected the rooms to be cleaned everyday!

What could be improved: Lack of room cleaning and the attitude of some staff members, one gentleman on reception in particular.

  • Detlev from Germany – 6 April 2025 (8/10)

Mattress was not good for comfort

  • Idana from Switzerland – 31 March 2025 (9/10)

I knew I wanted to book Adina hotel because I loved it so much when I was in Nürnberg. The little apartment with the fully equipped kitchen works very well. With a gym and spa area I didnt have to worry bout having to skip a workput.

What could be improved: It was very unfortunate that the wifi cable was damaged, but it was fixed for my last night.

  • Célio from France – 17 March 2025 (9/10)

We had a studio and it was very nice.
    Location was perfect for us.
    Would recommend and stay again.

What could be improved: Only had an issue with my room for 2 adults mentioning a sofa bed.
We were informed that sofa bed is only if there are 3 adults.
They upgraded us to a new room and prepared the sofa bed.

  • Guy from Israel – 17 March 2025 (9/10)

The hotel is great! located just across one of the main rail stations, the staff was great. Room was spacy and comfortable. Breakfast was superb.

  • George from United Kingdom – 9 February 2025 (9/10)

Great warm welcome, location was fantastic and loved the breakfast.

What could be improved: Really noisy at night,we were forced to close all windows to quieten things down.

  • Judith from Netherlands – 24 January 2025 (9/10)

The rooms are really nice and clean. Stuff is friendly and good service. Also the restaurant and bar are really nice.

What could be improved: Just 1 small point was the contact in front. I send a message/request and nobody replyed. Then I called and they told me they will mention it at my reservation. But they also forgot this, it was a bit disappointing. But on site they were very helpful and friendly!

  • Tam from New Zealand – 30 December 2024 (9/10)

Close to Metro, lots of storage within the lounge area, great view, comfortable bed, and two TVs. Very spacious and modern with everything you need. Having a washing machine/dryer was a bonus! You could even hang the little wet things on the large heated towel rail in bathroom.
Lots of street food style foodstalls next to the motel, which is very modern and clean.
    Would de stay here again.

What could be improved: The lighting could be better in the lounge area.
