I mean, having three separate rooms means you’re not tripping over your suitcase every time you want to grab something from the bathroom. The kitchen is actually functional too – not just a mini-fridge and microwave situation. I ended up cooking breakfast most mornings because there’s this great little market on nearby Gollierstraße where locals shop, and well, hotel breakfast gets old fast. The whole setup feels more like borrowing a friend’s apartment than staying somewhere temporary.

What really sold me on the location was how easy everything became once I figured out the rhythm of the neighborhood. You’re maybe a 15-minute walk to the Hauptbahnhof, which sounds far but honestly isn’t – especially when you discover that lovely stretch along Schwanthalerstraße has some gems tucked away. There’s this Turkish bakery about three blocks down that opens ridiculously early, and the smell of fresh bread drifting through the streets at 6 AM is something you just don’t get in the touristy areas. Plus, the U-Bahn connection at Goetheplatz is super close, so getting to Marienplatz or anywhere else in the city center is actually faster than from some of those “centrally located” places that charge twice as much. The street itself can get a bit busy during rush hour – you’ll hear some traffic – but evenings are surprisingly quiet. I think it’s because most of the buildings are residential, so there isn’t that constant buzz of tourists and late-night revelers you get closer to the old town. Parking was easier than I expected too, though I’d still recommend the public transport route if you’re planning to explore the city properly.
